Blog Review – CJ Howard

Rated 5 at BloggeriesIt never ceases to amaze me at the brilliant ideas people come up with to blog about. CJ Howard is a great example of that brilliance.

CJ Howard (Charlotte Jane Howard) is only an infant. However, that does not stop her from blogging. CJ, with a little help from her parents I’m sure, is keeping a journal of her life as she grows up. The very witty way that she has managed to tell us about her life and her family, is nothing less than superb.

For most of us, reading the everyday life of a family would get boring in a short time, but not through the eyes of a toddler. This blog puts a whole new spin on daily blogging, and I was very entertained.

Family vacations, and many photos can be found at CJ Howard’s blog. You cannot help but chuckle at how life appears to CJ. Who would have thought that a baby’s mobile hanging above her crib would be the equivalent to a night at the movies for a grown up?

CJ Howard has a simple, but nice, design that looks like a nursery. It is easy to navigate, and pleasant to look at. I absolutely love the way CJ keeps her blog “Clutter free”, and one can only speculate that when she grows up, her bedroom will be just as tidy.

I offer many kudos to CJ’s parents for “Teaching” her to blog so well. This blog is a sure fit for the Bloggeries Spotlight!

Blog Review – Did You Know?

Rated 3 at BloggeriesDid You Know that if you had a whole group of bakers together, you would properly refer to the collective of bakers as “A tabernacle of bakers?”

When I was a school kid, we would have to go to the library a couple of times a week and spend an hour or so just browsing through books. One of my favorite this to do during that time was to pick up an encyclopedia, and read various topics in it. I would skip over much of it, but I could always find interesting things in an encyclopedia that would interest me, and keep me reading more.

Did You Know? is a blog that is a consolidation of some of the more interesting facts that one might find browsing an encyclopedia. The author finds interesting facts and publishes them for us to read.

Did You Know? makes a very good attempt at being a great place for a curious mind to pass some time. The idea of being able to go to a blog and just sit and read some of the more fascinating things in our world is something that I could see myself doing now, and as a school kid. However, this blog does have a few drawbacks.

One of the first things I noticed is the many ads on the site. While I am definitely not opposed to making a bit of revenue to support a site, and even perhaps make a little profit, I also like to see blogs that pride themselves on having more worthy content on a page than they do ads. Did You Know? borders that idea with more than its share of ads. (Chitika, Adbrite, Google, and more.) One other notable discount about Did You Know? that I found was that it was not clear where to find the Archives. They are located in the right sidebar, but it did take me a few looks to find it.

A want to praise the author on a very nice idea for his blog, and also for some of the features they have used. The right side bar contains some very unique ideas, such as the “Did You Know Question,” which asks a random question to the viewer, and also the “Science News of Interest,” which uses a nice and unique way of bringing a science feed to a blog.

I do recommend this blog as a source of passing some time, and I myself may spend a bit more time there. The world is an amazing place, and I really enjoy reading some of its more interesting points that can be found at Did You Know?

This blog would have gotten a bit lower rating, but was saved by its content, and the authors great idea to present such interesting facts.

Blog Review – MLB Rumors Clearinghouse

Rated 5 at BloggeriesThis blog review was a true joy to experience. I am not a big baseball fan, but that did not stop me from being drawn into this blog, just by the sheer amount of information contained in it.

Here at Bloggeries, we get many sports related blogs, but they generally seem to just be a fun past time for the author. MLB Rumors Clearinghouse looks to be more than just a fun past time, and something closer to being this author’s true passion.

MLB Rumors Clearinghouse focuses its attention on all the latest rumors and news in Major League Baseball. The author makes post almost daily, and sometimes even more often than that. The design is simple, but somehow has the feel of a sport that brings remembrances of childhood fun, and trips to the stadium with dad.

The blog has ties to another site called The Cooperstown Kid, and the author seems to use the sites to sort of feed his readers a variety of information, memories, and even offers a few products that can be purchased.

If there were a way this author could hand out stadium hotdogs to his readers, I am sure he would do it.

This blog recieves Bloggeries highest rating to place it in the Bloggeries Spotlight.
