Looking at the name of the blog, I thought that the blog would be about so called “benefits” (ethical and moral) of being a vegetarian and all, but I was wrong. It is more about animal rights and environment. Kelly is the owner of the blog and is also a vegan, animal lover, animal rights activist, and an environmentalist.
The blog is not very old, just about 3-4 months, but she updates frequently. Kelly mostly makes 2-3 posts everyday and sometimes even more. Wondering how she manages? Read more. The posts (not all, but most of them) generally revolve around taking some actions. For example: Signing petiton to save Tasmania’s Forests or Submitting an comment letter for saving the manatee (an endangered species).
Two things which I don’t like about the blog are that there are too many links in every post and the posts are very long. (some are too long to hold a person’s interest). The reason for this may be that many of the posts are actually the copies of the newsletters or letters by various animal rights organizations and organizations working for saving the environment. (I guess that also explains the reason for a large number of posts in the blog).
Now the good things. The posts are archived on a monthly basis and also categorized in different categories. The category list is neatly placed on the right. The categories include, “Action alerts”, “Environmental issues”, “Events”, “In the news” and many more.
Under the category section you can find the links section and this list is pretty long. There are 232 links (Yes I counted them!) in 20 different categories. These include links to, animal abuse societies, animal adoption centers, animal advocate’s society, and other vegan bloggers.
I think the rating of the blog would improve if the author makes her posts more presentable, by not copying and pasting letters and information from websites, but making them short and to the point.
