Blog Review of Pet Information

Rated 3 at BloggeriesThe name reveals it all – petinformation.blogspot.com is about pet-information. You can find information about various pets like cats, dogs, fish, snakes, chinchillas, chameleons, e.t.c.

After having a look at the blog I had a feeling that it is a “made-for-adsense” blog. Correct me if I am wrong. The moment the page loads you can see google ads on top and on the right side. Even the profile of the author is missing. So no information about the author! Sorry guys. The author mostly copy various pet related articles from the internet and pastes them on the blog (with some modifications sometimes).

After all that said, I have to admit that the posts are informative for pet lovers (a reason not to give this blog a lower ranking). For example, click here. I myself learned some new things (as I am a pet lover) from many posts like this one- Training your cat. The blog is 10 months old. The author started out with a large number of posts every month but has slowed down a bit now. One thing which I like is that he/she provides the links to the website containing the original articles and makes a note at the end of every post, telling about the author of that particular article(on the original website).

Considering all these things I have descided to give it a 3. I could have given it a lower ranking if the posts were not so informative and might have given it a higher ranking if there was some information about the author on the blog and the look of the blog was more presentable. Owner of the blog are you reading? So go and take some action on that.

Blogged Out! Helping you become King of the Mountain …

blog Yet another blog from Darren from the UK. No, not Darren Rowse of ProBlogger, but the other British Darren. Darren Cronian, the Travel Blogger.

Blogged Out is a blog about blogging. Why on-topic comments are a must is one of the many posts which makes Darren’s blog unique and adds a huge value to anyone who wants to learn how to get better exposure to his blog. Most blogs about blogging encourage spammy behaviours. Darren’s doesn’t. He has long recognized the power and importance of real writing. When I look at the mass amounts of splogs and made-for-adsense ones, I wished that every blogger read blogged out. You don’t need to resort to spamming in order to be successful. The blog also reveals many forms of marketing based on Darren’s very own experience. Blogrolling management tool for bloggers is something you guys should check out. I myself love blogrolling and it’s a great way to get untargeted traffic to your friends who in return will send you some of theirs.

In addition Darren is a very helpful forum player, giving great advice like he does here.

I give Blogged Out! a 5. Bookmark it and pass it on. Follow his advice, and I can guarantee you, that you will enter a whole new world of blog marketing which is much more fun, more inspiring and far more rewarding.

Dog House: life of a middle-aged misfit mom

Rated 4 at BloggeriesOk so here is a review for a personal blog – zentzislife. The heading of the blog – Dog House: life of a middle-aged misfit mom, is unique but it says a lot about the content of the blog. Beth Zentzis is the author of the blog. She is a middle-aged mom (46 years old) from Oregon, USA, who loves her kids and pets. The blog is about herself and her pets – her dogs, chickens, cats e.t.c, so the name of the blog is well suited to the content.(She also talks about other things though).

I must say that Beth is really a good writer. She is pretty descriptive in her posts even if the topic is very simple. For example, in this post she talks about her messy house, have a picture showing her table and couch and then describes the things in the picture in details! I also like her flow, the way she connects one topic to another in the same post. Her posts are really indulging. When you start reading a post you develop an interest and go on till the end even if the post is lengthy.

Now about the content. Mostly she talks about her dogs, her chickens, her sons and gardening. She also talks about her cooking interest. One thing which I found rather amusing is that she address her sons as son “A” and son “B”. Beth is quite obsessed with her chickens as you can make out by seeing the picture of chicken’s foot on her blog! Yes, she has posted a picture of one of her chicken’s foot. I don’t know about you but I found it weird. She has quite a number of posts related to her dogs and sometimes even if the topic of the post is not related to her dogs, she somehow manages to connect it to her dogs. Other posts are about miscellaneous things like her “WhoKnowsWear” clothing business, her garden pictures, her son’s creation, etc.

Regarding the layout of the blog, it’s a little different from the regular “blogger” blogs, as the profile and the links are on the left side instead of right and that too is a little downwards, and not at the top. So, it is a refreshing change. There are not too many links in the link section, just five of them which makes it look simple and neat.

I have decided to give it a four because I like her smooth writing style, layout of the blog, and her dedication towards the blog.
