Affiliate Confession – Blog Review

Affiliate Marketing Blog ReviewYou really can never get too much education from other people’s experiences, and Affiliate Confession is a blog that is guaranteed to prove that theory. Meet Alan, the blogger, who has set up Affiliate Confession as a means of telling you about his journey of network marketing, affiliate marketing, and working from home for the past 3.5 years. The blog is a little different than most make money blogs however, and is going to give you a no-holds barred approach to affiliate marketing. You will learn some value and tips from Alan, but he will be honest about how difficult affiliate marketing is, and how the ‘gurus’ are really loading you a bunch of ‘crap’ with their advice. Alan is not holding back about affiliate marketing or anything else. He tells you the whole story, and because he has been at it for a while, he knows how you can make an honest $2500 a month. See how he does it through his most recent bloggeries: Build a Niche Store v3.0 Update, Work is Progressing on New Custom WordPress Theme, Why I Like The Ebay Affiliate Program, Lessons in Perseverance Part 4, Should I Start a Blog or Build a Website? and Take the 30 Day Blogging Challenge.

Money MakersAlthough there is some work in progress on the site’s theme and design change, the site currently offers a clean appearance with well-organized template that makes navigation very easy. Bloggeries are left marginalized and there are two right sided navigation bars. Bloggeries are in black text on white background and links stand out (but not too much so) in a bold red color. In the left sided navigation bar, you will find advertising, Categories Menu, and an Archives Menu. The Categories Menu offers just about everything you would expect in an affiliate marketing blog, and includes information on advertising, affiliate programs, clickbank, commission junction, contests, ebooks, AdSense, AdWords, and so many more. In the far right navigation bar there is subscription information, Entrecard, advertising, and a Top Commenters menu. Most bloggeries are accompanied with some sort of relevant picture or advertising to give meaning to the post.

I will go with a 4.6/5 for this one. Right off the bat, I really liked the concept of the blog, and the honest approach of the blogger. This kind of honest voice lends credibility to the posts and as such, he is likely to see some solid success through the blog. Moving through the posts you get a good feel for how well he does with his home business, and this again lends credibility to the blog. The appearance of the blog is clean and organized which also lends to the navigation scores. I do see a little more white space in the navigation bars than I generally like. Content is well written and user friendly for the reader. It is consistent in activity as well which is also serving its readership well. Overall, if you are interested in an honest no holds barred approach to affiliate marketing, Affiliate Confession looks like it is ready to serve you up just that.

Trade Show Help – Blog Review

For those who are interested in the Trade Show industry, you will want to check out a new blog that is all you need to know about Trade Shows.  The blog is called Trade Show Help.  If you are a Marketing Manager, Event Coordinator, Convention Planner, Booth Staffer, or just someone that wants to know more about the Trade Show world and about exhibiting at Trade Shows, this blog may have something valuable to offer you.  The blog not only offers information about trade shows, but also provides answers to questions asked by its readers.  How they do this is through a panel of 40 trade show experts with combined experience of over 100 years in the exhibiting industry that are ready to answer your questions on Trade Shows.  To get an idea of what you will find here, check out the most recent bloggeries at Trade Show Help: Pop Up Display Graphics How Should They Be Rolled?, Trade Show Case Sticker and Label Removal?, Question on Banner Stand Heights, What Trade Show Promotional Items are the Most Successful?, Question on Cleaning Fabric Hanging Structure, and What’s the Best Trade Show for Pet Related Products?

The site is fairly new and is well organized with a clean professional template, thus making it very easy to navigate.  Bloggeries are in black text on white background and links are highlighted in blue.  Bloggeries are centralized and there is both a left and right sided navigation bar.  There is also a convenient top navigation system to get to the blog’s main links which include links to the Home page, Exhibitor Resources, Trade Show Dictionary, About page, RSS, and Ask a Question.  In the left navigation bar you will find the Recent Posts Menu, Pages Menu,  Archives Menu, Blogroll, Tags, and Advertising.  Here the Pages Menu provides a comprehensive list of anything you need to know about trade shows such as the blog’s About Page and Privacy Policy, Ask a Question page, Exhibitor Resources, Trade Show Articles, and Trade Show Terminology.  In the right navigation bar you will find more links to Ask a Question, a Categories Menu, Hot Topics Menu and advertising.

Overall I give this blog a 3.8/5 for starter, though as a new blog it does look like it has a lot of potential as it grows.  The blog scores well on navigation as it contains a lot of blog meat and navigation systems to assist readers in moving throughout the blog with ease.  The blog offers good content that is easy to read and informative for the trade show reader.  The blog also has a clean appearance that makes the blog look professional and well organized.  I might suggest adding some pictures to go with some of the bloggeries, just to give the blog a little more color and to avoid the appearance of being a little too ‘texty’.  The activity on the blog could use a little work, particularly since it is only a couple of months old and thus will want to maintain consistent activity to get as many readers as possible. Right now bloggeries are spaced sometimes a week or more apart, and the blogger will want to increase this a little bit to sustain any new readers coming in.  Overall however, this is an easy to read blog with a well designed and easy to navigate template.  With some more activity this blog should be able to build and sustain a healthy readership over time.

Sports Posters Blog – Review

If you are a sports fan, and particularly one that likes collectibles on your favorite teams or players past or present, then you may want to check out The Sports Posters Blog. The blog is dedicated to those in search of the perfect sports poster.  The blogger acknowledges that sports poster publishers are becoming a thing of the past, and thus with licensed sports products being hard to find, the blog would like to inform and entertain, and continue the promotion of sports poster collecting.  To learn more about what this blog has to offer, check out any of their recent bloggeries: More on DAMAC NFL Football Posters (1978-1983) – San Diego Chargers, New York Jets, March Madness – 2008 NCAA Basketball Tournament, DAMAC NFL Theme Art Posters (1978-1983) by Chuck Ren – Dallas Cowboy Variations, Professional Bull Riders Posters – the Toughest Spot on Dirt, A Nod to Uni Watch: Top 10 Posters Featuring Rare Sports Unifroms, and Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics Posters – ISOC Beauties but Where’s the Primary Logo?

Sidney Crosby Pittsburgh PenguinsThe blog has a clean wordpress template and very little blog meat which makes navigation simple.  Bloggeries are left marginalized and in black text on white background.  The blog offers one right sided navigation bar which currently contains a search bar, recent entries, and a links menu.  Many pictures are associated with each bloggery, which is good in that it adds some color and spice to the blog, but at this point there may be too many as it is taking the blog a long time to load.  Other than blog content however, there is not much else to navigate or find of interest on the blog.

I will go with a 3/5 for this blog at this point, as it is a sparse looking blog lacking some essentials necessary to keep readers interested.  Appearance wise the blog is clean, however, there is so little other than content on the blog that it is actually looking a little sparse in terms of overall appearance.  The lack of what I refer to as ‘blog meat’ is making this blog look somewhat empty, and is also affecting its navigation scores.  To add to the blog’s appearance, the blogger may want to consider adding elements such as Recent Comments menu, categories menu, subscription widgets, archives menu, contact information, and the like.  Right now, with the lack of blog meat, the blog does not offer anything in terms of connecting with the readership, and thus is not likely to sustain a healthy readership over the long term as a result.  Content is well done but is sparse with new bloggeries coming in every few days to a week or even more in between.  Overall, if this blogger wants to sustain a healthy readership, regular content and more blog material will be critical to its overall success. A possible example of blog material would be the authors thoughts on the posters being displayed; many other possibilities.
