Diet – Weight Loss – Health and Fitness Blog – Bloggeries Review

Diet Blog Bloggeries ReviewIf you have any interest at all in dieting, and I mean, in this day and age who doesn’t! I recommend you take a look into a Diet Blog that contains the journalings of a self-proclaimed fat geek. Meet the author, pseudonymed “I am a Fattie”. Here is someone who has struggled with the overweight issue all of their life. The author states an apathy about that on a personal level, but has reached out to the dieters of the world with a wealth of information that is much more than the do’s and don’ts of dieting for dummies. You will see posts on weight loss surgery, diet pill product reviews, ab workouts, how to use a fitness ball, and a personal favorite of mine, the wrinkle free diet! There are also snippets in there that that provide significant food for thought, such as “How I beat Anorexia” and “Alchohol Makes Fruit Healthier – or Does it?” Not often you find blog posts that make you say “wow…” out loud. You will also find a banquet of diets for your eating pleasure on this site, and trust me, there really IS something for everyone here whether you are strictly dieting, just watching what you eat or considering weight loss surgery!

Navigation is very easy on this site. The opening page has posts centered down the page. On the left you can read about the author, get some congee recipes (YUM!), and peruse some advertising. On the right you will find a host of dieting categories that will feed your fancy on every topic from Lipo to its polar opposite, Get Big. There is an abs diet, an author’s diet, real life diet stories, supplements information, daily logs, burn fat, and so much more. You will also see some more advertising, the blog roll, and if you are having such a good time there, why not subscribe as a reader to the blog. The font looks good, and the colors are simple, which is great because the overall graphics do not deter from the mainstay of the site. There are plenty of appropriate pictures with every post and throughout the blog. This site leaves no fork unturned.

I am going to give this site a 3.3 for now as I think it needs some format changes. The advertising is just a bit distracting. I think maybe formatting the colors of the graphics around the AdSense will make it blend in a little bit more. The distraction is unfortunate because the content of the site is spectacular, well written, and very well informed and it deserves more recognition than it is probably getting. I also noticed a few grammatical errors, which also detracts from a very well researched blog post. However, a spell checker can fix that in a jiffy. Further, I would suggest the posts be broken down into sections, or broken down and written on separate days. The posts are very long, and while informative, may cause potential viewers to just scroll through the site instead of enjoying its content rich quality. Breaking down the posts could easily make this a daily blog, as the posts are only coming in every few days at this point. Just a few formatting and technical variations will make this an outstanding diet blog that I think people will line up for faster than the buffet line on Mother’s Day.

Foreign Perspectives Travel Blog – Bloggeries Review

Are you planning a trip to Paris anytime soon? Do you want to just dream about it? Either way, you can find whatever Parisian or French delight you are looking for ONE way or another through Foreign Perspectives. Here you have an “As seen on TV” blog that is a news and editorial on life in the south of France, it is a series on how to move there if you so choose, as well as some random musings. This site literally contains any and everything you want to know about Southern France whether you want to visit there, live there, or simply fantasize about it. Got a question about traveller’s checks? Not sure where to stay? Curious about how French Customs works? Any of these questions and more can be answered at the Foreign Perspective. If you want to go all in, you can join the forum, sign up for the newsletter, and browse through their comprehensive directory they have on a variety of topics. They also cover matters of a more international scope such as opening a US Bank account for a non-resident and many other useful tips.

Navigation through this site is accomplished easily. In fact, this site is done so professionally, I am hard pressed to even view it as a blog at all. Were it not for the RSS advertising or Recent Readers widgets, I wouldn’t even recognize this as a blog. When you open up the page the most recent post is an extremely comprehensive post on how to handle your holiday money. What also impressed me here is this post was posted the same day the blog was reviewed. The posting is very current, daily in fact and does not follow your standard blog ‘100 words or less’ format. In fact, the posting is extremely relevant and informative. On the right sided navigation bars you are going to find the Links and Categories sections that make this blog a blog. Links include anything you want to research about France – B & B’s, living there, flights or cars for hire, various luxury travels, and so on. Categories list includes everything from living in France to activities in France, French culture, French vineyards, French anything. If you WEREN’T planning a trip to France, this site certainly makes you want to consider it.

I am going to go ahead and give this site a 5. I had absolutely nothing to criticize. The content is impressive with blog posts being article directory caliber. The layout and design is very appealing and enticing towards a very French appeal. When you open the page the first thing you see is the French countryside which is simply breathtaking. The uniqueness scores very high as well. This is a site I would definitely want to remember if I ever was traveling to these parts as I can’t imagine any question about traveling to or living in France that could not be answered on this site. Activity scores are perfect with from what I can see daily postings that are extremely detailed. Further, navigation was very well laid out and I had no issues there. All in all, I have no criticisms of this site at all, and give this one a perfect score. Tres bien!

Douglas Adams Technology Blog – Bloggeries Review

Douglas Adams Technology Blog ReviewTake a look at Douglas Adams Technology Blog. This is a blog about the latest technology developments. I really liked this site because it also is a handy reference tool for technology for dummies, me being one of them. This site represents itself as a good source of information for consumers looking to purchase or upgrade anything technology related. Recent posts include “The Zune vs. Ipod Debate”, “Noise Canceling Headphones – Pros and Cons”, “How to buy an Ipod”, and “Hard Drive Size – Why It’s Important” (apparently size DOES matter!). For those of you that find it difficult to understand the difference between gigs and pods and bits and zunes, this site comes recommended as a good foundation when you are in the market for a new product. Stop in here before your next visit to Best Buy or Future Shop, and you will find a very comprehensive and easy to follow guide to your technology related questions.

Navigation on this site was fairly straightforward. The most recent post is “Computer Keyboard Cleaning – A Quick Guide”. I couldn’t help but look down at my own keyboard when reading this site and noticing the effect of a writer’s life on it. Now I know how to get some of those coffee marks out safely, as I had been avoiding the task for fear of damaging my equipment. The font is a great size and is easy to read, and the posts clearly list out the steps necessary to make the move the post is referring to. i.e. cleaning your keyboard or buying that iPod. On the left hand side is the blog’s navigation bars where you will find a list of links on a variety of topics – book reviews, alternative health information, technology related links, politics, and even weight loss and survey blogs. You will find very little advertising or pictures on this site but you will find a lot of archived information. This comes useful if you have a specific question that isn’t contained in the recent posts. I put in a search for “hard drive” and got a very comprehensive list in return so the site is well informed.

I am going to go and give this a 2.8 for a rating, but I am still bookmarking the site for my own reference. I think this site needs just a few tweaks to become fairly useful to any computer or technology user. The content rates the highest marks as it is a very user friendly guide to just about anything technology related. The uniqueness marks go down a bit, but only because technology blogs are a dime a dozen nowadays and this one needs some work to stand out. There are no pictures at all on the site, and adding them would certainly spice it up considerably. Activity needs some work as well with posts coming in every four days or so. The appearance will be helped with some graphics and maybe some more advertising on the site. For now, the site is completely text-driven which makes it come across as a little boring, and that fact overshadows the usefulness of the blog.
