MoActive.Com – Springfield Missouri Travel Guide – Bloggeries Review

If you are planning a trip to Springfield, Missouri, or are a current resident looking for an all inclusive place to find information about Missouri, then you are going to like MOActive.com, Springfield, Missouri’s newest and best activity directory. This site is dedicated to reviewing any activities relating to Springfield, and there is something here listed for everyone. Recent posts include dance lesson videos, herbs for skin care and high blood pressure, motorcycle rallies, review of local hotels, SEO in Springfield, children and weight issues and so much more. This site also offers recent headlines directly on the site where you can access the latest news in Springfield on items such as “Two Carthage residents enter innocent pleas…” Going through this site is not unlike perusing one of Springfields local papers as there is community and local information on just about anything and is a comprehensive guide to the city.

Navigation through this site is fairly simple and straightforward. The site is laid out in a very organized fashion with categories on the left hand navigation bar, posts and news running through the center of the page, and additional information on the right handed navigation bar. In the left bar, the site offers a search tool if you are looking for a specific item in Springfield and here you are also offered an opportunity to sign up for the newsletter about MoActive.com In the right you can subscribe to the site and login, and read some history on Springfield. The sites color scheme is very relaxed with a light blue color and black text on white background. Categories in the left handed navigation bar include anything you want on visitors or city guides and is organized very well. Here you will see News links, accomodations, motels, activities, church, dating, fashion, financial, credit, food, and so much more. There are health issues listed on the site as well showing that the operators of the site are interested in assisting Springfieldians with their overall quality of life, and not simply their social activities.

This site is getting a 3.2 from me. I really enjoyed going through this and learning more about this city. I found the overall content to be well-written and geared to the right audience. Organization and navigation on this site was nothing less than professional. I did not see any pictures on this site, so I think adding some relevant photos of the city would spice up this blog a little bit and give the site a more personal feel. I am not sure what the readership on this site is but I think adding some AdSense would help finance this site a little bit as currently there is little to no advertising at all. Also, the posts range from as few as 4 days to as many as 10 days apart and I think this site topic warrants daily postings. Other than those few things, this is an excellent resource to the people in Springfield, and I would definitely recommend this site to anyone visiting there.

Spy Review – The Spy Gadgets Blog – Bloggeries Review

If you are a technology junky or into security related equipment, go take a look at Spy Review: The Spy Gadget Blog. I couldn’t help but hum the Mission Impossible theme song in my head when reading through this blog. This blog aims to create a community where advice and experience in the security and surveillance industry can be shared. It provides a host of information, reviews, and advice relating to the security industry. And you will find a lot of information here on some really cool gadgets. If you are not in the spy industry, that alone is worth popping in to see. Recent posts here include Hiding a Spy Camera in Clothing, Zoom Telescope for a mobile phone, A poll on what your favorite spy product is, spy reviews back to March, and the list is quite comprehensive. Related posts include creating a camera with X-Ray Vision, Hiding a Spy Camera in a Pillow?, Invisible Wireless Covert Earpieces, Color Thermostat Spy Camera, Spy Camera Hidden in Shower Mirror, and so many more. Each post is accompanied by corresponding photographs so that you can see the gadget in detail and find out how it really works. I didn’t know whether to be wowed or creeped out when seeing these things, as I was truly amazed at how many common everyday items can be turned into detective devices. It almost left me wondering how many of these things are floating around out there without our knowledge. However, the posts are well researched and well informed, and provide excellent content to the audience of 111 readers.

Navigation on this site is very straighforward. Posts are left marginalized and run down the page with standard black text on white background. On the right navigation bar you can visit the Spy Shop and purchase some of these doodads, and flip through the very well organized categories if you are looking for something specific. Categories are sorted by specific devices: audio surveillance, books, circuits, computer surveillance, counter-surveillance, covert spy cameras, DIY spy gear, interviews, location tracking, new products, self defense, spy phones, and so much more. There is also a chance here for you to register for the site if it is something you really have a vested interest in.

I am going with a 3.7 for this one. The content is very well written and the site has some appropriate pictures with each post. The site also scores well on uniqueness as this is not your every day blog you stumble across. I also found the site very easy to navigate. I was however so distracted by the AdSense that it was actually the first thing I saw when opening up the site. This needs to be toned down a bit, perhaps blended in with the right navigation bar or even just not as prevalent as it is now. Posts are also coming in every 2 or 3 days which brings the mark down a bit as well. I would suggest finding news pieces or somewhat related information if there is not enough “gadget related” content available for the site. Overall however, I found it be very cool to read and think it is a good resource for anyone interested in the Big Brother is Watching you notion.

Health Over 50 – Health Information for Seniors – Bloggeries Review

If you are over fifty and looking for a source of health information on the Internet, make sure you bookmark Health Over 50, an all inclusive guide to health beyond the age of fifty. This site is geared towards both men and women and provides a wealth of information on just about any topic related to the after50 health category. Recent posts include How Effectively Can you Make Use of the Existing Women’s Health Services, Do You Snore and Sleep on Your Back, Cancer of the Prostate Gland, How Avoiding Women’s Health Symptom Diagnosis can Lead to More Lurking Dangers, Heart Disease – A Brief Overview, and Growths in the Prostate just to name a few. The site has been around since October 2005 and covers just about any health related issue to the after fifty crowd.

Navigation is very simple on this site, as it is designed very informally. There is simple black text on white background and a host of products available to you if you are looking for anti-aging products or herbal remedies to common ailments. There is even a link to get to a matchmaker’s site if you consider yourself to be “on the market”. The site is not divided into categories, but on the right handed navigation bar you can search through the archives to find what you might be looking for. The pictures that accompany posts such as “Prostate Growths” are comprehensive and user friendly. The content itself even with its strong medical basis is also very readable, and easy to understand for the layperson.

I am going to go with a 2.6 for this site, but there are some very quick changes that can be made to bring this review up a few notches. The categories section is too broad, there is only one category. The site is very comprehensive and covers a wide range of topics. I think if the owner was able to break things down a bit and put posts into groupings, it would be easier for the readers to find what they are looking for. For example, if I wanted information on osteoporosis, currently I would have to search the archives. This is time consuming and many readers do not want to go to that trouble. Possible category suggestions would be anti-aging medicine, herbal products, snoring, women’s health, cancers, osteoporosis, men’s health issues, coronary heart disease, and so on. I think each of these topics is relevant to the site topic, as does the owner as there is information on each of these items in the blog somewhere. Grouping things together would organize this site much more effectively and make it much easier to read. I would also consider adding more pictures to the posts just to give it a friendlier appeal. If there is a post on anti-aging medication, perhaps highlight a product that is currently using advertising space. Further, I think some AdSense would do very well for this site and currently there is none available. Overall however, this site is content rich, well-researched, and the writing is very easy to follow and enjoyable to read. I would love to see a few changes added and then review it again. This is a HOT topic and the site could do fabulously if it was monetized a little bit better.
