Indie Designer Marketing and Promotions – Bloggeries Review

If you are an artist looking for a way to market your work, you may just want to stop into Indie Design Marketing. Here you are going to find a blog that is dedicated to online promotional techniques for independent clothing and accessory designers. The owner, Alexis, offers a daily dose of ideas and inspiration to help your independent artistic business grow. She offers you insight on publicity, building websites, advertising on the Internet, and any other information she feels an independent designer needs to know. You can check out the quality of the information she provides through the recent posts: Promo Opportunities for Indie Designers; Solving the Sizing Dilemma – Jewelry Designers Edition, Solving the Sizing Dilemma; Why the Rich get Richer; Contrast and Conquer; $7 will get you 24 hours worth of Indie-Geared Publicity; Old School Marketing, Meet New School Marketing, and Product Photo Problems from a Bloggers Perspective.

Navigation on this site is very easy. Posts are left marginalized with black text on white background, and links highlighted in blue. There is a right navigation bar where you will find all the blog goods. Read the about page, and check out the archives or subscribe to the feed or email subscription service. The blog has a few categories that may interest the indie-designer, including 101 details, All about publicity, Blog-o-nomics, Can’t miss this, and Get the Sale. There is also a healthy blogroll in the works, which, considering this is a fairly young blog is indicative that marketing efforts are working very well. I did not see any pictures on the blog, given that it is a designer blog, I think that would add an additional element here that would interest the readers.

I will go with a 3.3 here. I like that there is regular content, but am thinking daily content for such a new blog may keep readers a little more hooked. I think the content itself is outstanding and very well written. It also clearly comes from a reliable source as Alexis has done very well herself on the subject matter and is teaching her readers accordingly. She has a good blogroll going which shows her marketing efforts are successful, as do the regular comments she is getting on her posts. Uniqueness and navigation scores are very good as well, as this blog is easy to navigate and offers a fresh perspective on an old topic. I would like to see some pictures to spice up the blog a little bit, but otherwise, this blog is doing very well so far in its youth, and should only expect continued growth and success.

Blogging Tips – News and Tutorials – Pure Blogging Review

If you are looking for that little something to mix up your blog a little bit, and really, who isn’t, check out Pure Blogging – Blogging Tips, News and Tutorials. This site is so far the most comprehensive blogging blogs that I have seen yet. This blog is relatively new, but is geared towards publishing blogging news, tips, and tutorials and is intended for anyone interested in learning the secrets of blogging success and monetization. The owner of the blog, David Culpepper, is actually a full time chemist who works this blog in his free time to keep you updated about breaking technology developments, strategies, and the general blogosphere buzz in a user friendly format. Check out any of his recent articles to see what I am talking about: More Blog Contests, Effects of the 1000th Comment Contest, We have a Winner, Pure Blogging Goes Mobile, Contest Update 2 — $200 Cash Giveaway, June Roundup, Weekend Links, AOL Gets a New Look, The Bloglines Train, and Contest Update for the $200 Giveaway.

Navigation on this site is very straightforward, but if you are a blogger looking for advice, set aside some time for this one. You will want to spend some time here, as David has a LOT to offer you. There are 3 navigation bars, and posts are left marginalized. The first nav bar is on the top and offers the Home page, About page, Subscription Links, Top Posts, Archives, Links, and a Contact Button. I love the Archive link here, wish more blogs had them set up like this. The archives are not only categorized by link and date, but by topic as well. It doesn’t get any easier than that. You will then find two right navigation bars, and I could spend a lot of time telling you exactly what is there, but check it out yourself and you will be glad you did. Top features I will mention are the “Top Commenters” menu, where David offers links to top commenters in his blog in these bars, which I think is an excellent way to recognize and connect with your readers. There is a long list of categories and money makers for your blog each containing a huge amount of resources for your blog. These include but are not limited by blogging tips, blogging news, blogging tools, alexa, monetization, blog promotion etc… You can also read here about featured authors on the site. Oh, and here’s something else I haven’t seen yet, a menu with links to the most recent comments, fresh idea and I love it.

This blog is getting a 5 from me, I have no suggestions FOR this author but will happily take some of his for myself. I am very surprised to find out that this blog has only been around a few months, you would never guess by the layout, content, navigation, or appearance of this blog. The readership of 389 also speaks volumes to the blog success. What I love most about this blog besides its stellar content and user friendly material for the novice blogger, is this blog is dedicated to the reader. This is a lesson learned for all bloggers who spend so much time working on monetization strategies that they forget they are blogging to an audience. I love how readers are recognized through the top commenters menu and that active links are up for these comments. That this may be a result of the 1000 comment contest is irrelevant (though that in itself is an EXCELLENT idea *hint hint*). The blogger has worked very hard at establishing a solid and excellent reader base, and I think has several valuable lessons to teach all of us.

Chicago Real Estate – Bloggeries Review

If you are in the Chicago area, or coming to the Chicago area, then you may need some help looking for a place to live. If this is the case you should check out what is probably one of the most comprehensive real estate websites on the Internet – Chicago Real Estate Blog. The team here specializes in Chicago area residential real estate in the City of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. You will find here that nothing is left behind, as the site includes single family homes, townhouses, and condos. There is real estate information here on all suburbs in Chicago including Algonquin, Arlington Heights, Barrington, Bartlett, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Schaumburg, Wheeling, and so much more. The site itself is extremely comprehensive, as you will see from some of the recent posts: More than food, the Taste of Chicago; Is it time to invest in Real Estate?; Old Orchard Condos; Spring Hill Condos Selling Fast; and Take a moment to remember. Travel around the main site and you will find buyers and sellers links, a link to search for homes, and a FREE Chicagoland MLS search tool. The site also offers a host of relocation services for each of the Chicago suburbs, so if you are new to the area, you will already have a host of resources at your fingertips.

Navigation on this site is very simple. There is a top navigation bar that includes the home page, blog, buyers link, sellers link, search for homes link, and a contact page. The posts and content on the main page are left marginalized and there is a right navigation bar. On the blog, the right bar contains a categories menu that contains Condos, Festivals and Events, Real Estate Investing, and Uncategeorized links. The right bar also includes and entire menu each for relocation and real estate information on each of the Chicago Suburbs. I really like the personal feel of this blog, the entire website is clearly devoted to making the lives of the readers easier. If you are a seller, they guarantee your house will sell in 60 days, and buyers are guaranteed a $5000 savings right off the start. They also offer not only real estate information on each suburb, but individual city information as well. To further that end, if you are looking for specific Chicago information that isn’t available on the website, they invite you to contact them and let them know.

I am going with a 4 for this one. I kept thinking while reading this that if I was moving to Chicago, I know who I would call. This has to be one of the most comprehensive real estate resources I have seen to date. There is nothing here that would not appeal to a prospective buyer or seller. The content is rich and informative, and the navigation is extremely straightforward. The only thing I would suggest is to get that blog a little more active, daily content or content every other day would certainly help. Perhaps a listing of the day if they are short of ideas for the blog. An active blog is what will keep readers coming, but otherwise I can’t see any other issues that would impede this blog from becoming tremendously successful.
