NFL Guru - NFL Football at its Best! - Bloggeries Review

Attention football fans, if you are looking for something to bide your time before the NFL season starts, here is a great place to do it, the NFL Guru. This site holds as its sole purpose the sharing of any news and analyses related to the NFL. I have a hunch that anything newsworthy on NFL you will be able to find it here first. The site brings you the latest on the NFL Draft, signings, trades, cuts, news, rumors, and articles and help on how to play Fantasy Football. As they promise, anything you need regarding the NFL can be found here. Recent posts include: NFL Positional Rankings: Top 10 Tight Ends, NFL Guru Season Preview: AFC West – San Diego Chargers, NFL Rumors: Alexander, Peterson Injured?, NFL Draft Recap: Round One Analysis, and NFL Mock Draft – Final.

Navigation on this site is fairly straightforward. The first suggestion I would make however in terms of navigation is to add an archived posts menu box. I am not sure how often people use those, but as a reviewer I use them frequently and if the readers really enjoy the site I think it could be useful. I also would suggest adding a recent posts column. Again, I find this incredibly useful not just reviewing, but on some favorite blogs if I don’t have time to read through everything they are handy tool to skip right to a specific post. Otherwise the site is well laid out. Though I am guessing this is a fairly new site just by the number of postings, I think it is doing very well with what it is offering. The top menu bar contains an about link, NFL schedule (definitely bookmarked that one!), contact link, bloggers wanted, donation link, and a list of popular posts. In the left bar you will find a list of categories for the blog and their blogroll such as NFL Official Sites, College Football info, 49ers News, and so on.

I am going to say 3.3 with this one. I can see the site is fairly new and needs some time to grow. And it will, football fans will enjoy this site as a very comprehensive resource for the NFL. The content is well written, almost to the extent of sports journalism. And the layout is appealing and not at all obtrusive. I would suggest switching the categories menu with the first AdSense bar, just so that ads are not the first thing people see. Also I would suggest more frequent postings, and possibly making the current ones shorter. For example, the Top 10 Tight Ends could be broken down into groups of 2 or 3 each day to entice consistent readership. The pictures however are excellent and appropriately dispersed throughout the site. Again, I think the only thing this site needs besides these few changes is some readers, and now that NBA is wrapping up and sports fans need something to do that should not take very long. V7N Search Marketing News Blog - Bloggeries Review

If you are looking for some tools for your Internet Marketing Campaign, stop into the V7 Search Marketing News. What are you going to find here, you ask? Well, when it comes to Internet Marketing, or doing any kind of web work or Internet Business, the list is pretty comprehensive and it would take me less time to tell you what you WON’T find here. You won’t find the kitchen sink, and you won’t find anything that is NOT related to Internet Business. Clears it right up for you, doesn’t it? The V7 is an outstanding collection of Internet Business related materials. I keep wanting to use the term Internet Marketing, which you will find here, but it doesn’t stop there. There is material here for the web host, web master, graphic designer, advertiser, newbie, novice, and even the guru can pick up a few resources from this site. What amazes me is the time and trouble the owners and authors have taken to make this site so comprehensive on so many levels. The owners believe “that the Internet is more than a medium…more than a marketplace… is a community… of real people sharing real experiences in real time”. You can see evidence of this in their most recent posts, which are all examples of real life experiences, reviews, and what has or has not worked for them: Facebook Platform: A Brilliant Move; Thank you, Aaron (in reference to Aaron Wall’s SEO Book); Twitter Sucks, AdSense Monitoring, Want to See Which Sources Are Ranked Highest in Google News?, Googles Vulnerabiity: AdSense; How to Get Traffic From Directories, Google Trends Showing Daily….Trends; Google Killing AdSense Accounts, and Quality Referrals just to name a few. Again, from font to Facebook and everything in between, there is a resource for everyone that is trying to make money on the Internet, on this site.

Navigation on this site is extremely straightforward. The top navigation bar contains a list of links each of which could be its own site in itself: script directories, SEO blog, about page, graphics page, market place (a classified ads listing of sorts), and book reviews ( a very comprehensive listing of several marketing books out there. To the left you will find a forums menu where you can meet any of the posters on marketing, google, SEO, web design, coding, hosting, any number of forums really. There should be something there that will interest you. You will also find the book review menu that lists each of the books they have reviewed individually, a valuable tool if you are thinking of picking up some literature to expand your knowledge base (which is never a bad idea). There is an extensive Blogroll, Editorials menu, directory menu, hosting menu, and my personal favorite The Technology Blog. This was the most interesting to me only because I don’t quite involve myself in I – Business, thus proving this site proving an interest level to anyone. Here you can read about the $20 K MP3 player, and the $1 million dollar jewel encrusted PC which does not come near topping the 1.3 million dollar cell phone. Intrigued? Thought you would be.

I am going to give this one a 5, far be it from me to instruct leaders in the field on how to do their jobs. The postings here are relevant and frequent, and (something I don’t find often) short and to the point. “Twitter Sucks“, seriously, no more needed to be said. The appearance is appealing, standard, but there is nothing that distracts from the content of the site. Navigation is so easy you would have to be blind not to figure out how to go from one place to the next, and the content is spectacular. Comprehensive, well-written, and these guys show not just through their words but by example that they want you to do well. If you are in business online, this is a keeper, bookmark it today! Classic Wine News - Bloggeries Review

Ever find yourself trying to figure out what wine goes with what meat, or where in the world to get a good wine? If so, you need to bookmark “Classic Wines News. This is a site known as Classic Wines that is there to help you find your way to the perfect selection of wines. You can buy wines online here using their site, and you will also get up to date wine price comparisons from various Internet wine stores and wineries. You will also have the opportunity to view different wine reviews, wine articles, wine pairings, and meet other wine officianados like yourself. Not ONLY that but you can search for specific wines by type, region (of the WORLD that is), price, food pairing, or really, anything, and Classic Wines offers all of these wine resources to you for absolutely no cost. Recent articles cover the anything and everything to wines and include: French Wines on a Budget, You Can Take it With You, Fragrant White Wines, Fraudulent Bottles, Spa Day and Chardonnay, The Perfect Warm-Weather Wine, and The Truth about Foi Gras.

I would like to say this site was easy to navigate, but truthfully, it is very busy. While this lends to the comprehensiveness of the information they provide, it does make it difficult to navigate unless you have tipped your glass here more than a few times. There are several navigation bars and it took me more than a few minutes to figure them out. On the home page, you will find running down the center some very useful menus such as Wine of the Week, Region of the Week, Recent Reviews, and Recent Wine Articles. The FIRST left sided navigation bar includes a menu where you can click on Wines by the Region. Here you can go anywhere in the world to see what wines are being offered, and where. Yes, ANYWHERE in the world. Love that menu. In this same navigation bar you will find specific Wine Columns divided into categories: Wine Investing, Wine Trends, Wine Lifestyle, and Food and Wine.

Then travel over to the second navigation bar that you will have found once you travel past the homepage and into the body of the site. This navigation bar takes place of the standard right-sided navigation bar but sort of appears in the middle of the page and I found a bit distracting. However, here you find the standard blog links such as Archives, and the blog categories: Classic Wine Pairings, CWM Transcripts, Editor’s Choice, Lisa’s Great Parings, The Wine Mogul, Wine and the City, Wine Buying Guides, Wine Prices, Wine Regions, and so much more. At the TOP of the site, you will then find links for Home, Wine Articles, Food and Wine, Wine Directories, Wine Accessories, Coupons, Videos, and Search Wines. I know it all sounds complicated, but spend some time here and it works itself out for you. As I said, the busyness lends to the comprehensiveness. They want to offer you a lot, and they do.

I am going with 4 corks for this one. The site is unique in that I don’t believe any wine question goes unanswered here. It is extremely active and the content is written very well by what appears to be a team of writers. As I said, the appearance can use some work but I think just moving that navigation bar over to the right side would make a huge difference. And I also think the ads are way too obvious, intrusive almost. However this site does well for marketing a large number of wine products, and provides useful and valuable information at the same time. I still recommend a bookmark if you are thinking about popping a cork anytime soon. Did you enjoy this review? Click here to get your own blog reviewed!

Obsessed with Film - Movie News - Reviews and Discussion - Blog Review

Now playing on a blog near you is “Obsessed with Film - Movie News, Reviews and Discussion”. This is a site that movie buffs are going to spill their popcorn over. Here you find a site containing all of your movie news, reviews, and discussion. There isn’t much about movies that you will not find on this site. What I love about this one, is that it carries a lot of unique features that sets it apart from the standard celebrity dish or movie fan site. You are not going to find general news feeds on “playing in theaters now” or “coming out on DVD” or “Oscar dos and don’ts” but you WILL find a wealth of anything movie related literally at your fingertips. The site is newsworthy and informative, and provides big screen lovers a place to get latest and greatest that you actually will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Recent posts prove that with headlines such as “Is Watchmen finally shooting in June?”, “Joe Carnahan and Jason Batemen are Remarkable Fellows”, “Macdonald Eyeing the Eagle of the Ninth”, “Posters and Billboards from the Cannes Film Festival”, “Bronte Sisters biopic attaches 2 (and a half) big names…” and those are just a few of the posts from ONE day. One I particularly enjoyed reading was “Andy Fickman Replys to Obsessed With Film”, a post detailing an almost heated banter between the author of the site and the director of the movie Andy Fickman. Seems Mr. Fickman got a little irritated by the use of the word “lazy” in Matt’s review of the Game Plan. Gotta love how directors consider the word review to actually mean a showering of outrageous compliments, but you have to go to the site to see it yourself. It is worth a chuckle.

Navigating the site was very easy. Posts are left marginalized on a very well done backdrop of celebrities and movie scenes. In both the bottom and right sided navigation bars you will find the categories for the blog which include a DVD Blog, Feature Articles, Greatest Scenes, Guest Reviews, Movie News, My Top 100 Movies, OWF Podcast, Movie Reviews, and a Forum for the blogs readers. Each of these categories was extremely well organized and again, relaying new information that would be compelling to the avid film buff. Take minute to read one of their featured articles like “Is Spidey 3 Indicative of a bigger problem with franchises?” or “Movie Devolution – Part 1 – Technology”. Pop into the message board, or check out the Greatest Movie Scenes link. Here you can replay clips from James Dean to Pinocchio and a host of the in-betweens. In reviews you will find everything from 28 weeks later to 16 blocks.

I am giving this one a 4.7 out of 5. What I like about this site is it has a huge amount of movie information, but it is more “right brained” than traditional movie blogs, so it gets some uniqueness points from me. The content is very well written, and the reviews are objective and comprehensive. I also like that you aren’t going to ONLY find the current hits or New Releases, but that the site appreciates the history of the film industry in one comprehensive blog. The navigation and appearance both scored very high as well, if I wasn’t reviewing it would take me a minute to even notice this as a blog. The site also does have a good following, so perhaps it could use some advertising to monetize it a little bit. I also think the forum could use a bit of promotion, as it currently only has 5 of 52 members listed as active, and the youngest post goes back to April. But otherwise, being a huge film buff myself, this one will get a bookmark for me as I am always looking for a good movie site that steps a little bit out of the box. I could tell you more about this site, and I’d love to, but space for me does not allow it. However, there’s a lot left unsaid that you need to check out yourself, and I am just going to leave that trailer rolling…..
