i get inspired about many things. it always has to do with needing a creative outlet. blogging is just one of my favorite ways to creatively express myself, whether it is in my private journal blog or my public fashion blog, its all about creative expression. plus, its fun to think that other's might find my posts informative, inspirational, or entertaining. |

I'm often inspired by reading other people's blogs. So often I read something and think to myself, "Oh my gosh! I can TOTALLY relate to that!" It's as if I read a story from my life that someone else wrote. I often think that events from my life, or my perspective on things is unimportant or boring. Then I read the very thing for myself. Ralph Waldo Emerson put it this way, " In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts: they come back to us with a certain alienated majesty. Great works of art have no more affecting lesson for us than this. They teach us to abide by our spontaneous impression with good-humored inflexibility then most when the whole cry of voices is on the other side. Else, to-morrow a stranger will say with masterly good sense precisely what we have thought and felt all the time, and we shall be forced to take with shame our own opinion from another." Reading other people's great work inspires me to dig into my own life, my own story, and pull out the good stuff (or at least attempt to do so). NEVER, NEVER, NEVER copy!! And if you're inspired by someone, always give them credit. But I'm learning, just like Emerson wrote, to "abide by my spontaneous impression," and just write the things that come to mind regardless of if I think others will like it. Granted, I try not to write junk. But I do take risks as well... |

When I write poems or short stories, I'm mostly inspired by something that happened to me, a memory, a strong feeling. I take this feeling and turn it into words. As for my photography passion, I try to capture everything beautiful around me - nature, architecture, people. In short - my inspiration is everything small and big around (:
