Hello World! This is not a classified, but an appeal for help, to creating content for an upcoming blog. I am planning to create a magazine type of blog and I am looking for serious authors that would like to contribute to the blog. The magazine will cover a wide range of issues like Money, Sports, Technology, Lifestyle and other stuff. The magazine will look something like, "HuffingtonPost" It will only happen once I can gather enough authors, (at least 5 to begin with). If you have a blog of your own or taking up an education in journalism, this would be an excellent opportunity for you. Do note that you will not be paid any salary, as this is a volunteer service on your part, this is something you want to do out of passion for writing. If you are an expert on a particular subject, or have knowledge of a specific niche, you are very welcome to be an author for the blog. You need to be at least 18 years old to contribute though. When you write for the blog, you do not need to use your real name, a pen name would do just fine.As an author, you do not have to be an expert in the English language, but sufficient enough for your readers to understand your typed articles by proof reading it. This is not a copy and paste project, original content is required. Each article you type must be at least 300 words. As this is a magazine and not a newspaper, you are required to post an article each week instead of having an article posted daily. You can contribute to any topic you like, but its best to take up a department that you enjoy writing about. It could be politics or video games, the choice is yours. If writing is not your forte, and you have a good camera, you can be a photographer for the magazine, uploading your images to the blog weekly. You can also contribute if you are into sketching comics. The blog is still in its planning stages, so I am open to suggestions and discussion. On my part as the Administrator of the blog, I will contribute at least 5 articles a week, and be promoting the blog through free and paid avenues. If you have any suggestions or queries, or would like to sign up, just reply to this post or send me an email. Thanks ![]() My Pen-name, Jack Cox. jackcoxknol@gmail.com |

That just sounds like you don't want to do all your own work. True, once you have a moderately successful blog you might attract guest bloggers. Once your blog (or any blog for that matter) reaches a certain level of traffic, readership, and page rank, then it become really appealing for guest bloggers. The win - win develops because the guest blogger usually receives attention, a valuable back link, and possibly referral traffic from your site. Of course what you get is content from the guest blogger. But if you don't have a blog even started yet then you don't really have those things to offer people who are true content producers.

The idea that you're offering an opportunity for people to donate their time to the cause of making your blog a success, as long as they follow your rules is, well, iffy. There's nothing inherently wrong with a team blog, but generally it's an effort that belongs to the whole team, rather than several people working as unpaid employees for one person.

Depending on what your goal is, you would be up against giants like Demand Media, who pay 100's of content/Video Youtube producers. They also have one of the best keyword search tools for finding what people are searching for in longer queries (4+ long tails). They also secured over 500 million in funding. I would research their background (and other content/blog companies), to try find an effective strategy if you are considering generating income.

systems like this may have worked in the past, but not any longer. It is much too easy to get a blog started these days, that if anyone is going to blog for free, they may as well do it for themselves. Also, you are never going to get a decent magazine up and running without experienced writers and SEOers, and you have to pay them!

So... You, a random, credential-less internet user, want experts to volunteer to contribute to your magazine blog (which hasn't yet been started and also seems to be your first) which will provide financial benefits only to you? The Huffington Post, to which you so quickly compared yourself, provides a salary to all its contributors. Have a plan and be ready to offer salaries to your employees for the next great business idea you have.
