Read Aloud ... Dad is on a distinguished road
Default What is good supplementary content for a Children's book review blog?

I am reviewing children's books (as read alouds) on my blog named:

Read Aloud ... Dad (on Blogspot)

My policy is currently One post - One book. To keep it simple, predictable.

I am also participating in the Amazon Affiliate program.

Is there any good supplementary way of posting on my blog, that would not be blatant advertising - but which could boost my click through rates to Amazon.

I am interesting in the content part - compelling content! What could be a good supplementary idea for posting (in addition to the reviews)

Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the forum. I was thinking about your review blog a little and some ideas for blog posts other than the book reviews itself came up.

Maybe you can write some sort of guide about what makes a good children book and tips for choosing a good children book (something like that).

Just some ideas off the top of my head and I hope it gets you thinking in the right direction. I am in no way an expert in your niche.

Hi bloggerican,

Both ideas are great. Truly.. It did not cross my mind, but I will now think about them and find something that could complement my blog along those lines:

a. guide about what makes a good children book
b. tips for choosing a good children book

Maybe I can merge the two into a practical type of post... "My children's book order this week" explaining why I order a certain book, what do I expect from it when it arrives and why I think its a good choice."

This can be followed up by the book review several weeks later, and check of whether I chose correctly + practical tips for choosing a good children book from these experiences.

I'm still cooking it in my head, thanks for the unselfish and great ideas!

I'm glad that you found my short reply useful. I'm sure you can come up with more blog post ideas as you go along.

Your blog readers are your best resource for blog post ideas. Ask for their input.

Anyway, all the best.
