I would like to know how successful have you been with blogging, in terms of achieving substantial visits per month and what methods have you implemented. So far, I got around 80 visits in the last 2 months but prior to that I got around 300 in the first 2 months. So there's a decline but maybe because I was away on holiday and have not updated the blog frequently. Can you share your experiences. |

I only started less than a week ago and have had around 60 views yesterday and 20 today so far. I'm trying to update the blog everyday, but I haven't really done much to advertise it. |

Far too few...Started my blog (tinite.com if you're interested ) last month with some friends. Got about 300 - 400 unique ids in the first month, haven't checked any statistics for this month yet. I prefer getting comments to hits, though. A comment shows you your readers are engaged with your content and interested enough to say something.

I look at length of time on blog and number of comments I am getting as more important than any number of visitors. Quality over quantity.

2 weeks ago I would average 4 visits a day. Ouch. Have started moving my lazy behind (I write daily, comment on other blogs and forums) and I average 60 visits/day. Which is still very low, compared to other sites of mine (that do 1000 easily), but it's OK. Only 2 weeks, cannot ask for miracles

yesterday I had 400. Some days I have 15. I'm averaging around 50 I would say. for a new blog that a lot of people would categorize as a personal blog ( i don't ) i don't think its a bad start, but as others have said i'm more interested in engaging people and i look to the comments section for that.

I get any where from 10-50 visit a day but that depends on if I have posted new content or not. So far my biggest draw back is the fact I currently only put up about one new post a week.

I've had 91 page views so far, started it yesterday. I'll be honest, I think the high majority 80-85+ are from myself constantly checking it as I was working on the design, so had to keep checking the updated view, but I got at-least 5+ which seems such a small amount. Got to start somewhere and work on increasing it.

I agree with Melody that quality is much better than quantity, and I judge the success of my blog more on the number of comments and Feedburner subscriptions than just random traffic. But to those of you who are posting high unique visitor numbers, where are these hits coming from? Organic search engine traffic? Referrals from forums? Social networking sites? Blogroll links? I think we'd get more out of this if we added a little more about why we are getting this number of visitors and how we can improve our efforts. It's even in the OP...
