Question Swiped Content?

Hey,

I just noticed excerpts from my blog posts on this site - [travelingsnote.com/search/creatosity]. I noticed it when troubleshooting my feeds in google reader and I'm kind of baffled as to why they would mash my post headings together like this. Has anyone encountered this before?

Thanks,
Kevin

I haven't personally experience this. The official term is content scraping. Although it is wrong, people are gonna do what they are gonna do. Just continue to focus on putting out good content on your blog...

I checked this out. It's scrapping content, probably through RSS feeds and then auto-posting into categories. There's not a lot you can do about this, it's something that happens everyday. If it really bothers you and you want to try to address it, contact me and I might be able to help you privately. I enjoy squeezing these types.

Yesterday there was a result in Google for a full article but I see it's gone now - I guess it's time to check out Copyscape or something similar. Thanks for taking a look.

Check out this service - CopyGator - it's specifically for your RSS feed.

Thanks I'll make sure to check that one out. On a side note, I just wanted to let you know that there appears to be a problem with the Capchas for the contact forms on the two sites listed in your signature. For some reason they won't accept the codes when they are entered.

nah, the capcha's work - but they are case sensitive. Most aren't, which is part of the reason why so many capcha forms fail to do their job.

I tried on a couple of different browsers and received "Wrong code entered." If you're able to submit with no problems, I can post a screen print of it somewhere where you can take a look at the error. Just something to check out.

Oooh yes. I was just now to duplicate that in <cough>IE 8</cough> After I reloaded the page though, I sent two messages through fine. Not sure what that is all about. I'll have to check into it. FireFox has shown no issues. What browsers did you use? Thanks.

I tried it on IE 8 and Firefox 3.6.8 - it gave the same message for both browsers.
