Write good, fresh, original material.
If your write original articles for directories (which is why i'm assuming OP is asking for synonyms) the bluehatters will come along dupe the content and nuke you, original content should stay purely for your blog imo.

But if he wants anyone to be impressed with the articles, they should be _rewritten_, not made into synonym salad. The horrible synonym articles just convince me that the original blog isn't one that I'd ever want to read.

OK, I'm starting a thread about synonyms. People seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what they are.

A word of similar meaning to an original I.E on and upon.

Im assuming OP wanted to something along the lines of spin his article in a slightly smarter way doing it all by hand rather than using something along the lines of spinner syntax.

Out of sheer curiosity, why would you rewrite an article when you could just write an original article? I promise you, it will be quite easy to tell the article was rewritten.

Hey Audality, have a well written, original article on your blog long enough, and it will eventually find its way to a dozen or more websites across the 'net. It's just the way of the web.

May I ask what a bluehatter is ...

dictionary.com might work. I'd suggest not using synonyms just for the sake of it though - doing more reading is really the best way... not to sound preachy.
