| I'll agree with this. It's important to have good grammar, but I know I've used improper grammar in certain situations to emphasize my point.

Yes. Good grammar is good because it helps the writing flow and be easily readable. Your reader doesn't have to pause to figure out what you mean. If I had to say what's the worst offense, it would have to be run on sentences. After that, vague subject verb agreement. Spelling is less of a problem for me. Not everyone is a great speller. However, you have spell check and my version of word does rudimentary grammar checks for sentence fragments and stuff like that. Having said that, the best thing I ever did for my writing was learning the Associated Press Style Book. Google that and see what you find. Get a copy. It helps a lot. |

I remember someone who tried to "correct" Robert Heinlein's TANSTAAFL ("There ain't no such thing as a free lunch."), as if Heinlein didn't know _exactly_ what he was saying. I found it highly irritating. |

Well of course it is important. Not that hard to use programs to check your texts if you got problems. Otherwise most comments you get on a blog post might be about the bad grammar instead of the content

I know I care, If you are reading a blog and you see quite a few misspelling mistakes, then you assume that person has no idea what they are talking about. They will lose credibility over this one thing here alone. I know we are not all perfect and we make mistakes now and then, but that is what proofreading is for.

Yes, by having good spelling and punctuation, you don't come across as an idiot. People are much more interested in a blog that is easy decipher than one that sounds like it's been texted by a 16-year-old cheerleader or a 3rd grader. I'm not so particular about every floating comma, but I want my blog to worthy of the hits it gains.

hi everyone, yes i do care ..but I think a slight mistake is considerable unless the article is almost full of grammatical errors and words are much misspelled..

| I agree, no one will care if you forget a comma or use can not instead of cannot, vice versa.
