I keep a running list of ideas for my blog. That way, if I am ever stuck, I pick one of the ideas and write about it. A couple of times I haven't been terribly interested in the idea I decided on, but I wrote it anyways. Sometimes the most important thing is to get a blog post down on the screen, then go back and edit it. You never know when a post you forced yourself to write might turn out to be a highlight of your blog.

I blog about movies, so whenever I'm unable to see a newly-released film, I usually post my thoughts on what's happening in the film industry. New trailers, casting, upcoming movies, new posters, what's dominating the box office, and different feature articles and editorials.

I think the key to coming up with regular fresh content is to think outside the box and expand your theme a little. With my blog Inkweaver Review I have a strict subject: books. This limits me to posting about books, so I have to be constantly reading and reviewing books to keep regular content posted on there. With Experiment Garden it is more about speculative ideas, programming, science, sociology, whatever I want to post about that is an experiment. So I have great freedom and never run out of ideas because I am always working on experimental projects which can become a blog post for Experiment Garden.

If you blog about what you know, and love then you shouldn't have an issue writing great content as long as your topic isn't too narrow. I also try and keep a constant list of blog topics on the go, and when I am really on the ball I will have a couple articles written waiting to be posted. |

I'm going a different route with my blog, mine is fiction based, about a novel I'm working on. To come up with my next post I just think about where I want to story to go and how I want to portray the character (who is actually the blogs writer).

I take my ideas from everyday life. See what people are talking about and integrate it into your content. Use your experiences.
