Default Restrictions on posting

Hi, I am new to this site and really frustrated at not being able to post in the classifieds section unless I have posted 15 'spam free comments' elsewhere.

I'm looking for sites that accept guest bloggers (dating, relationships, women), and find it surreal that I have to post 15 mindless comments elsewhere before I can post a genuine request. It doesn't make sense.

Can the forum admin please change my account settings?

Cheers!

Why not just participate in the forum and post the fifteen spam-free posts? I understand that you may want to benefit from the forum without contributing to it, but, well, you see how others might see that particular equation?

@Milko - No, we are not going to make an exception just for you. Please feel free to join in and really learn what is going on here at Bloggeries. If you've made 15 thoughtful posts, you'll kind of get to know some of the thread conversations, and see what others are doing with their blogs.

Yes, before we can use our signature, we still need to make at least 15 posts...

That's exactly what I'm doing - trying to post 15 spam free posts. It's actually a good way to see what's going on.

As a new member, I can see why this would be frustrating as I am going through this as well. But, it keeps the auto submitting robots out of the blog and makes the content (hopefully) more relevant. 15 posts isn't that big a deal.

I think the 15 posts is good, yes it's frustrating at times but it gets you more involved with the site, of course that's as long as you take the time to actually read threads and make relative posts

People have no patience these days :P

Agreed. It is a TAD frustrating, but I understand why the rule is in place. And as others have mentioned, it gives a chance to see what's going on here.
