I'm not an experienced user of Drupal, but from what I know, I would say that Wordpress is better in most cases. Wordpress is very easy to install, customize and update, and that's what has made it so popular. Drupal is a much more powerful CMS if you know how to use it, but from my understanding, it takes much more effort to set it up for blogging and you need considerable technical skills to customize it to your liking. Have you used Drupal for blogging?

Wordpress has more themes, plugins and other stuff. Drupal is good only if you have a site to back the blog.

Drupal is for programmers or high-level tech users who know how to manage and modify a powerful, full-site CMS. For something like a blog, Drupal would be overkill.

I'm a programmer and of course, Drupal is my choice. I'm surprised that someone said Wordpress has more plug-ins. Since Drupal 6, there are over 1,000 free plug-ins on Drupal itself. Most of which will work as is (with MySQL). It may feel overkill at first, but if you really want to do anything with your blog, that's a good choice. Now, I have to agree on themes, Drupal sucks. There are a few that are neat, but in general, they are not so good (although, they have some Wordpress themes that have been ported!) And if you have questions about Drupal, don't hesitate to bug me 8-) Btw, if you are not a programmer, I suggest you look for a managed Drupal environment (where you don't have to take care of the system yourself...) |

Drupal is free as well. Open-source like WordPress...

Lots of high end blogs are on it and a friend of mine made The Cheeseburger Locker | Over 2 Billion Served on it but I'd still stick with wordpress. Work on the blog, not in it.
