Default History of Bloggeries

Hey,

I had not heard of this place until today, and was wondering how Bloggeries came about, and maybe just some ideas about what Bloggeries is about.

Thank you!

I found this form via Google. I haven't taken a look at the other sections of this website yet. Anyway I would also like to know how this place came to be.

I think I found this page as a link from one of those "Increase web traffic" sites. Good stuff so far.

I've only been here for a year but I can tell you what I know. The community is relatively old. It started as a blog directory (still accessible on the main page). The forum, though, is one of the best parts of the site now, in my opinion.

The site is owned by Bloggeries, a fine professional blogger who bought it a few years back. He's been running it quite well ever since. You can learn more about the site's owner at his personal blog:

Stop Having a Boring Life

He is currently traveling the world and writing a blog about his adventures. It is great reading, and a fine example of a good, successful blog built from scratch using fascinating, quality content.

Rob, also a year or so ago spoke of how the name came about. He said that bloggeries is a name for individual blog posts. I always thought that was kind of cool to know. I have been just kind of lurking until recently. I am now ready to start promoting my blog.

bloggeries = synonym for blog posts.

If you like it here, and use "blog posts" once and a while, substitute it, will ya?

Started in 2005 as a directory, then added reviews, then forum etc...

Bloggeries is all about blogging really. The forum is the most active place for sure and it's just a place for people who blog, to talk about blogging.

This forum is still young but doing well, it's a few years old. Great forums take years and years to get going. Most forums never get going and if they do, lose steam fast.

That said, huge thanks to the mods here. Everyone who enjoys this should be grateful, if not this "garden" would have been overrun with weeds a long time ago.

Side note, if you post your new bloggeries on twitter, tag #bloggeries. It's new, not many people do it but if it caught on, this place would grow like wildfire along with the traffic of anyone with a large number of forum posts.

Should you just add that hash tag to the end of your tweet or something?

I think it is interesting to find out about Bloggeries' history. I have gone to the Stop Having a Boring Life site and it is definitely NOT a boring life he talks about there. Thanks for the information and the question.

I believe I found this site through a straight Yahoo search. I have been here at least every other week since. There is some really good information here.
