Why was my advert moved?

I recently post my web hosting advert in the special offers forum. It was later moved to a new section of the forum. When I click on the thread it says I do not have permission to access.

I would like to know where I am allowed to post my web hosting advert and why I cannot see my advert when I click on it.

Please note the advert is advertising $1/month WordPress hosting so it is relevant to this forum.

It was likely moved to the trash. If you had fewer than 15 posts at that point, it would've been removed just for having a link. Otherwise, maybe it was viewed as just plain spam...

I had more than 15 posts. The post was relevant since it's $1/month WordPress hosting including:

- Free WordPress set-up
- SEO configuration

I don't see how that wouldn't be useful for someone on this forum. I would very much like to hear why my post was moved.

Can someone please explain to me why my thread was moved? The lack of responses tells me that is shouldn't have been removed in the first place. I ask that my thread is moved back to the special offers forum.

What was your thread about? I'm afraid that we only move threads for one of two reasons:

* Because they are in the wrong forum.
* Because we thought they were spam and moved them to the trash.

The fact that you called your thread an advert leads me to believe that we may have eliminated the thread either purposefully or unintentionally while cleaning spam from the forum.

Perhaps it looked a bit too similar to the other spam we get? Usually if you have a more personal tone we'll leave threads for the benefit of our users, but if it looks like spam it gets deleted.

Nevermind, Sequence Hosting. I found your thread in the trash. We deleted it because it was a bit too spammy in tone. We can deal with one or two links, but your thread was stuffed with links to your website, with numerous keyword variations. We understand your need to SEO your website and get keyword rich backlinks, but Bloggeries has a rule against excessive linking:

3. No blog links or post links are allowed except in Show Off Your Blog, or in your signature. However, it is OK to link if someone asks a question and you reply to say that you wrote about this on your blog.

Technically, in this situation we're alright with you posting a few links, but not all the links that you did.

If you want to make that post then please edit out all but a few of the links then repost, or if you want I can do it for you and then move it out of the trash back onto the forum boards.

Thank you very much for your reply and understanding. After reading your extract I can see why you removed the post.

As I'm sure you know web hosting is a very competitive market. That's why anytime I can advertise I will. I will always follow the rules as I respect the forums owners and mods.

Perhaps it may be a good idea to create a thread showing the rules of the market place.

I have different versions of the thread to suit the rules of each forum I visit. I will post the thread later on containing 2 links.

Please note I called my post an advert because it is one. The difference is I post it in the correct forum. If you had a marketplace rules thread I would have noticed there is a limit on the account of links and thus not posted the thread I did.

Ah yes. I would also like to know if it's strictly 1 post or 1 post per week, month etc. For example would it be wrong to post the same 2-link advert once a week or once a month? The reason I’m asking is because every forum has different polices on this.


For example digitalpoint only allows 1 thread.

Where as webhostingtalk allow 1 thread per week
