Re - this thread (@ Theme Designers... Get Some Easily Monetized Themes Done!)

Haven't seen anything too classy so I will be getting some themes made. Those that know most are of course bloggers themselves, so I'm going to ask for Bloggeries members opinions on this

What would you like to see in the ultimate blog theme?

It will have space for ad spots, three column, widgetized... not too sure on a colour scheme yet. Let me know and I'll try to get it incorporated.

Also, let me know what kind of price you'd pay for something like this - the ultimate blog theme. I will give a free copy to the person with the best idea if it gets created

I always liked a nice header area with logo, 3 boxes below that with recent posts, comments etc in them, content on the left with one sidebar on the right.

widgets of course, but don't have to be built in. a space for 250x250 on top of sidebar and 3 more boxes at the bottom for misc. stuff.

how does that sound?

Not sure about the ultimate theme as it's all in the eye of the beholder. Maybe one that is easy on the eyes; focuses your eyes on the content and has it setup for ads to go the highest converting areas. (Tall order I know).

I do know you picked the "Ultimate" topic because when I saw the "Ultimate Wordpress Theme" I was like I gotta see this...

I was going through the same process with my blog last week and designed my own theme (Moolanomy - Personal Finance. Investing. Wealth Building.).

Basically, I added the popular posts/recent posts up top to help with views per visit & bounce rate.

Added the 300x250 ad box on the right and 160x600 on the left to take advantage of CPM ads.

Added some 125x125 ads, but I am still working on monetizing those.

I like the change overall and think that it has a lot of good characteristics for monetization. I even called it Adtimized. :-)

I like your theme. I really would like to design my own (can't read enough about it right now), but I am freaked on messing up my whole setup. Good work!

My theme is a (highly) customized version of John Cow's Milk it. And no, I didn't customize it because I don't know how

Essentially, I'm thinking about a theme that will be decently priced enough so that most bloggers can afford it, but still priced so it remains "exclusive" and doesn't have millions of others using it.

I'd like to know what bloggers would want - have kept notes for the ad spots mentioned above, converting areas... any other ideas?

So maybe release an exclusive theme with a max of say 1000 license sold? Or modify each one slightly and sell x amount?

How's the planning going have you had any other feedback?
