I'd originally seen the Bad Behavior plugin back when I was first starting Online Opportunity. At that time, the thought of blocking any of my users accidentally wasn't acceptable (when you only get a few visitors a day, every one counts!) Now I'm getting enough traffic that I think I might be able to risk it, but wanted to get some feedback from people who are running Bad Behavior. Do you get complaints from legitimate visitors who are locked out of your blog? I found a post Rob made back in December about himself being locked out, that turned out to be a fairly minor problem. Anyone else have trouble getting themselves locked out? I'm considering running the plugin because of huge number of spam comments that are made by automatic programs. Akismet does a wonderful job of filtering them, but they're still hitting the database and upping the server load. My understanding is that the plugin will stop them earlier than that. Jay |
