If its a basic contact form list name and email or even just email it can be used to sign people up for a newsletter or can be used to subscribe to the blog posts using RSS.

i think he meant feed subscription by email... newsletter is less common and more often smells more like spam, even to a beginner...

oh yes.. feed subscription.. sory i dont know the term.. oo you mean that feed subscription is a spam? how does it works.. sometime it shows number of reader subscribe the email..

Feed subscription isnt spam. It is what people use to sign up to the RSS feed of your blog and recieve updated via email.

sorry to make you misunderstand that a feed subscription is a spam ... i actually meant some newsletter subscriptions are spam, you'll encounter more of these the longer you blog, but then some newsletters are genuine and very informative!

ok thanks bobbytoat for clearing the picture in my mind.. basically is the type of content itself, if genuine and very informative it may not called it spam.. now im trying to do that..
anotherthing what is podcaster? is it related to this feed subscription?

some bloggers offer podcast as content instead of written posts. podcast is basically audio files, can be motivational talk, joke, story or anything. and they also offer subscriptions to these podcasts.

podcaster i believe would be the person or blogger who runs a podcast blog or offer such subscriptions... It could also be a software to help you create podcast, see more at the link below:
