This may seem like a silly question, but I've just started blogging on blogger.com (literally in the last week) I've pushed it a little on facebook etc. and asked family and friends to check it out but I was wondering if there is any way to tell how many hits your blog has actually recieved?

Thanks for the article. I was actually coming here to ask if I should go blogger for ease or Dreamweaver. Which is coming in my student masters edition. From what I saw you can't link your youtube channel to your blog unless it's published by a major blog site or software. That was my main reason or wanting blogger. But since I can't do subjects, that won't work for me as I plan to have multiple subjects for my blog. From video production, 3D, expatriates, living in France and current events. I want to do article previews on the main page with links to the full article and a navigable sidebar by subject. I also want to be able to position my advertisements. For a beginner it seams a bit harder to use Dreamweaver but I think the flexibility will pay off in the end. Now if they can get the 3D menu to work on embedded videos and allow independent websites to be linked to our channels I'll be happy. |

| Can you only use Google Analytics if your hosting your own site? I'm externally hosted on Blogspot.

I use Blogger because the info I have found say's you cannot use meta tags in wordpress.com. This thread was not specific wheter it was WP org or com. Without meta tags good luck being found by the SE.

I just clicked on a couple of your wordpress blogs. They look very complicated and seem to contain a lot of information. I think I will stick to blogger right now as it is more my speed. I wonder, though, are your wordpress blogs as complicated looking to your traffic as they are to me? You might be scaring off followers because your blogs seem too complicated and busy. Maybe less is more...

Its not that bad. I mean even the official Google blog itself is hosted on Blogger. Sure it isn't as professional as a custom domain name but it works.

Its true, I think around 80-90% of the world's blogs would be running on wordpress. Great script.
