Ok, so I've changed the URL on one of my blogs a few months ago and my traffic crashed. All the previous links are dead, etc. Here's a big problem. I tried searching for one of my own posts on Google and I found it, but when I clicked, it said the blog no longer exists and still had the OLD URL. How do I get Google to update my blogs URL so that the search results will lead to the new URL? |

Update: Theres only one page that isnt showing up Diary of a Super-Villain: Emo Soap! Is there anything there that violates Bloggers Terms of Service or anything? Is there anything there that would make them not index that one page? |

Your best bet is probably to use Google's own Webmaster Tools In there, you can tell Google what URLs you'd like it to de-index and also submit a sitemap that shows your new links. If there are problems with a page, like malware or such, or even just broken links, it can tell you that as well. Very useful.

You need to setup a 301 redirect on your old site. What this does is that it takes all of your old links and reroutes them directly to the page on the new site. With the 301 in place Google will update it's database quickly for your site. Along with transferring the link juice that has been built up already.
