I've discovered that a Blogger blog makes a good idea manager and I setup a blog just for notes and ideas. I do not keep any sensitive information on this blog, but I would like to password protect it. I tried to protect it using the privacy settings, but if I set it so only I can view it my gadgets do not work, especially the table of content gadget which I need to keep track of all the ideas. I've searched the internet for password protect script and have tried several, but none that I have tried work. They seem to have no effect what so ever. Just wondering if anyone here used a password protection script that worked. |

I've decided that what I want probably is not possible. The problem is the feed for the blog. To be private you have to cut off the feed or anyone can see your blog using the feed. But all of the table of content gadgets I've seen rely on the feed. I'm not sure a simple password to open the blog would turn off the feed. Since I feel I need the table of content gadget to find all my notes, then the best way to stay private is turn off all the listing and search engine options in the settings. And then not tell anyone about the blog. I think a table of contents is a great idea for any blog. So maybe some day Blogger will come up with a integrated table of contents that does not depend on the feed. |
