I do now. Initially I started with hi5, went over to Blogger for a few months, moved to Multiply for a year and then moved back to Blogger, have stayed on ever since for the last few years.

One thing I notice here from Blogger posters, is the mention of customization. I wrote my own blog software, but if my hosting service goes wonky, then I would want to keep my domain, but have the blog on Blogger.

Is that possible? Does it cost a lot?

The only other real alternative for me is TypePad ('cuz it's MovableType and written in Perl), but I think that might be a bit pricey.

Blogger lets you have custom domains. If you already own the domain, it's free to set up (I think Blogger offers its own domain registration for folks who don't already have their domain name; it's about the same price as anywhere else.) I have my blog set up on a subdomain of a domain I registered through NameCheap.

Yeah, it's a Blogger blog. I think by now I've rewritten every single line in the template. :P

I'm kind of a Blogger addict. There's something that's really fun into forcing a Blogger blog to act the way you want it to... I've looked at Wordpress - I like the idea of self-hosting, and they have WAY more plugin support than Blogger does - but I don't like how their templates work, so I've never made the switch.
