I must say that my favorite plugin right now is GD Star Rating. I use it on Books For Sale and I never fail to be impressed by the slickness of the post rating functionality.

Currently I am using Stiva Blog script for my blog. I love the Search engine friendly URLs add-on, and stars rate feature. I personally think this is the greatest blog script.
WordPress is pretty much search engine friendly if you start using permalinks, but if you are serious about blogging you need something more stable to rely on it.
