Finally! "Read More" post snippets for Blogger!

Finally, Blogger has released real Post Summary support:

Blogger Buzz: You Might As Well Jump!

Now we can finally make "Read More" links that don't require a JavaScript hack.

Woot! It's something I'd been considering doing for my cooking site, so now I'll have a reason to try out this new feature directly.

Yes, and its much better now that real post snippets are implemented. The old JavaScript hacks still had the whole post there, they just hid most of it. So page load times were still slow.

Okay, after having tried this I don't like it. I can insert it with no problem but it doesn't seem to be working at all. Of course that could just be another bug in my layout.

That's very possible. What kind of error are you getting?

I've tried with both the old editor and the updated editor. Neither work.

It is probably because you layout is an older one that was designed before the recent changes. On Blogger buzz there is a link to instructions on how to update older templates to work with the newer post snippets:

Scroll down to the bottom and it gives you the code you will have to insert.
