I'm adding this here because I know other platforms have plugins and such that make it more convenient to add alt tags to every post. For me, I end up forgetting most of the time and will occasionally go back to edit posts and add the appropriate tags. So any advice for remembering to add the alt tags every time? I generally compose in Scribefire and don't touch the HTML side of each post unless there's a specific need to (like, oh, I don't know, the fact that I should be adding alt tags every time seems to be a good reason to, but I don't, heh).

I don't think there is any good way to do it. I usually give my images a descriptive file name, which theoretically means that you don't have to focus on alt tags quite so much. However, they are still very good SEO. Perhaps Zemanta adds alt tags automatically? I don't know, but that might be an easy way to add both images and alt tags without ever having to touch HTML.

I'm not sure what I think about Zemanta actually. When Scribefire partnered up and allowed you to use Zemanta from there, they tossed in extra code to every post (even when 'not' using it....but they've finally changed that away from being the default). I don't really have any use for using their image finding services because I mostly talk about other sites and use examples of pictures from them frequently, so I'm not sure. It's something I'll keep in mind, though.

Yeah, personally I don't use Zemanta. I like to have full control over my posts and code the HTML myself, but some people like the ease of use.

Yeah, I can definitely understand why it's great for other people, but I just....yeah, I don't think it's for me, lol.
