Entrecard - is their traffic really any good?

I've been using EntreCard since May 2008 since I heard about it. It's great for new bloggers looking for some traffic and hits.

It help keeps the motivation up for blogging and seeing hits like 100 per day (compared to 5 - 10 hits).

Quality of EntreCard traffic is generally not that great... Most entrecard droppers are just that...looking to drop their cards. As all EntreCard users are bloggers, there is a tendency to be too engrossed in increasing traffic to OUR BLOGS and we tend to skip or gloss over other people's blogs.

Still, it's something useful for new bloggers and with the new EntreBar, things might get better.

Yes - it will drive traffic to your site
No - the traffic is generally not very good.

But the thing to note is that the traffic is 'generally' not very good - meaning that some of it is good. After a couple of weeks of doing the Entrecard thing I have found several blogs that I actually like and have subscribed to. I'm hoping that other people might do the same for my blog. If only 1% of the Entrecard traffic is any good, thats 1% more than 0%. I know it makes my bounce rate look horrible (ninety something percent!) but I can live with that in these early days.

It depends. You really have to tune your blog for it.

I've found that funneling the EC traffic to a page offering a contest of some sort tends to work out well. For example, if you're running a contest, drop EC on that page, and make sure it says in big letters "FREE STUFF!" Then make rounds of 300 drops a day. You'll get "Drop backs," and if they see "Free" they can't help but stop and read it.

The increase in traffic is just for flaunting and showing off stats lol. Well, Entrecard traffic is not convertible and users will come and stay only until they find ur badge. I dont use entrecard coz its just useless.

I disagree. Most of my commentors are Entrecard users, though I'mnot trying to sell them a product.
