Neglect other methods?

Has anyone else found that sicne putting an Entrecard on their site, they have neglected other methods of finding visitors and just concentrated marketing time into dropping cards?

I realise that's what I've done after the initial boost in traffic, I haven't done much in terms of spreading my link around. I've almost forgotten how to do it.

No. I just set it up on my blog and let it ride, selling ads/buying ads about once a week. I don't go on dropping spree, only dropping when I see a card.

I bet many who max out daily drops are probably in that boat whether they have realized it or not.

I'm nowhere near maxing drops, the most I've ever managed was about 70. But I still find I haven't been doing wuch else in terms of marketing.

Entrecard is a tool to market as well,you should time your self on dropping.What i do is i set 1 & half hour to drop 300 card which i made it ,besides that ,you can advertise on other's blog by looking at your field related,for instance :if you are talking about internet marketing,you can go to "Internet Marketing "category to search the blog you want to advertise.My criteria to advertise is:
1)At least top 200000 alexa rank.
2)not more than 500 credits and at least 5 days
3)It has interesting topic to share,so readers will read the post.
4)There are numbers of comments.

Ultimately,you will have more constant traffics than short term traffics.
