But now you really have to chaindrop if you want to get on a 512 blog, or even a 256 blog. Hopefully they will lower the tax to 50% so you can earn a decent amount from your ads and can still affort to buy them. At the moment if you sell your adspace, you can affort to advertise on blogs that have two less people than you, or wait four days to advertise on an equivalently popular blog.

I doubt that it'll balance as well as they hope for it to, unless they come up with some sort of value assessment for every ad in addition to the price.

Well, I know it'll adjust the price... but it'll be hard to do it accurately unless there's a real value assessment.
