My blog actually started using the myspace blog situation. Since mine is a personal blog it's one in the same for me. I've since branched off onto my own site, but still update the myspace blog at times with links to my actual site.

I have a myspace for my blog but haven't seen traffic yet. Am I supposed to "friend" many people then? Is there a way to do it automatically?
Of course! Like Rob said, you're not going to get anything if people don't visit your profile right?? So, how can the masses know about your profile if you don't friend them?

You can do a couple things to make mass friends. there are programs online were you sign up and put your myspace and people just start adding you so you get alot of friends. My friend did it for a day once to see how many friends he could get and he hit like 600 in 24 hours.

There is also something called "Whore Me" which is a code that shows your picture and you post a bulletin and your friends can copy the code and paste it so you get friends from your friends network.

Myspace is so big if you think you can do something its probably already been done or someone is doing it.

I do know that if you run a mass friend application you may risk losing your account. Cough cough not that it ever happened to me; cough cough.

Add a bunch of people that were relevant to you; leave some comments and grow naturally.

That being said is anyone getting any serious traffic from myspace?

I get some here and there but most of it is from my friends. If you look at my main myspace: MySpace.com - Fig Newton - 19 - Male - Sherwood, Oregon - www.myspace.com/aguynamedjeremy

you can see I have implemented rss feed for my blog and Twitter updates also. All with the new myspace apps. The myspace apps have opened up alot that us bloggers can take advantage of if used right.

Myspace is a good networking site for your blog... you can update your status with your website link, post bulletins to all your friends, and join active groups related to your blogs content to drive traffic to your site.

My myspace is MySpace.com - ♥ Kristi è innamorata ♥ - 29 - Female - Arizona - www.myspace.com/gemikitten.

I have both a site on myspace and on Facebook. The Myspace site is for all practical purposes useless. The Facebook site is much more valuable. Myspace is mostly spam at this point.

One of the best things you can do is to set up a Facebook page, which is seperate from your personal profile. This allows people to become "fans", but lets you maintain the page like it was a profile.

I depends really. If you really want to use MySpace as a marketing tool for your blog then, yes, you should get a myspace for your blog.

I'm not really into myspace though. It's way too annoying for me. Facebook is just a thousand times better. Better people there and networking can be easier.

I think using the massive community of myspace can only benefit your blog, maybe you could use it as a front door (off the top of my head) to dazzle and attract people to your site.

I am trying to start a music blog so myspace helps with finding new music and artists,

Just look at the individual elements of myspace and pick the bits you can use to benefit you
