Alright so am I the only one who is diving into this "new" media full on? I'm loving it and have grown my contacts enormously.

I've met so many people in the last few days; I'm loving it.

Meh, I don't really see it as that "new" of a media. It's basically just one large continuous chat room, with a touch of forum format, a dash of social networking like MySpace, and a smidgen of instant messenging....with limits on word count. It's not new...it's just a pot of gumbo or some old lady's purse that has everything but the kitchen sink.

That aside, once I get into the habit of using it, it's not bad. I enjoy it, find a lot of cool stuff, and make connections I wouldn't have otherwise...which is great. I don't know how long term it is, though, so I'm still just taking it at face value.

I wouldn't say addicted as much as infatuated. I am going to slow down a bit so I don't burn myself out. I'd been focusing on SEO and other types of building for so long it's refreshing to just dive into places like twitter knowing the boring / hard parts are mostly done.

I have made countless contacts though that I'm sure will help and I've only really been on it since the end of April; seriously in May. Hopefully I'll see many more of you there as well.

Sue - I'd recommend adding ~50 people or so to "get the party started" then keep / talk w/ who you like and remove who you don't.

Real-time Twitter Search - Tweet Scan is a great tool for finding people who have been active recently in your niche. I search "Blogging, Blogger, Blogs" all the time.

And if you're looking for like-minded folks to follow, check out the Twitter Packs wiki for a starting point. It lists some recommended twitter folks by topic of interest, geographic location, etc.
