Default Does Entrecard bring loyal readers?

I read a post a while back from John Cow saying that he indeed saw a spike in traffic from Entrecard but had a extremely high bounce rate of 70%. Are you finding this is the case with Entrecard with you? I know for me its high but not that high.

I have a similarly high bounce rate, which reduced when I moved the widget below the fold.

I've met enough people and found enough interesting blogs to make it worth the virtual real estate on my blog though

I agree with TUK;

I've met a lot of people and many people who read this post probably found this place somehow directly or indirectly through entrecard. I do think it works best for certain niches.

I'm definitely glad I joined let's put it that way.

I'm one of those who took down the entrecard not so much because of the bounce rate (which was like 80 plus %) but because it wasn't worth my time to moderate. Visiting other blogs, clicking through, answering ads, then it was odd when I didn't have an advertiser. Also, I found that many people who wanted to advertise on my blog weren't appropriate for me - very few were. Overall it just took up too much time for little return.

I'm still looking for something in the shop that's worth my spending my accumulated credits on.

Why not just sell them?

They're only going to reduce in value.

Good idea. Next week I'm launching a contest to gain referrals to this forum. Winner will get 500-1000 EC credits and I'll pick a winner each week.

If you don't have enough credits for a listing at Bloggeries send me a PM and I'll see if we can do somethign to eat up the rest of those credits as your blogs would qualify.

i also noticed the huge bounce rate in my blogs after using Entrecard but one thing is for sure, it promotes your site but still it depends on your blog if you will gain them as loyal visitors or not

I tend to agree with you. The traffic is NOT worse then digg or stumble upon and they are still popular. In fact I know MANY members who have signed up through entrecard here at the forum. I know of maybe 1 who found us while stumbling... 0 while digging.

I have subscribed to a few new blogs because of Entrecard. Some are blogs I probably wouldn't have found because they have a unique topic.

I have subscribed to several blogs I found through Entrecard. Also, I know that I've gained loyal readers. Although there may be some visitors who come through just for the credits, I really value the visitors who come and actually read!
