Smile Is anyone using Disqus?

I just added it to my blog and know I am trying to find folks to follow. It is a social commenting feature. Let me know if you are using and what your experience has been!

I looked at it, but didn't end up using it.

It looked like the comments where hosted elsewhere and showed up to my readers via javascript, thus it didn't look like I would be getting any SEO benefit from moving to Disqus.

Thus I keep the comments on my site to help my SEO, even if it means I need to delete a few on occasion.

Disqus makes page loading damn slower. That's why i don't use it. But i tested it on of my wordpress sites. I think its unnecessary to use an additional plugin for comments.

I don't use it, because honestly, I find it frustrating at other blogs I comment at. Especially when you go to the effort of posting a comment and it gets eaten by discus.

How often does this happen? I've just switched over myself.

As a regular commentor, I'd say maybe every 3-4 attempts? I'm just guessing though.

I used to use it, but not anymore. I think it's another barrier to the visitor if they don't already have a Disqus account. Didn't add enough features for me and it did seem to slow down the site loading.

I've been using it for a little while now and it seems to be working alright. *knocks on wood* I did have a little trouble with it not wanting to show comments I was getting, but I was able to fix that quite easily. I also had an issue with it interfering with my feed, but again, I was able to get that fixed and it's been pretty good since all of that.

I'm wondering if this is because the blogs your posting on have it set so that they have to approve your comment before it's published, which is seems to be a feature most (if not all) comment systems have.

You don't need a Disqus account to post, so I'm just curious what barriers you're referring to. Just want to make sure this isn't causing problems for commenters I didn't know about.
