Hi, I've created this thread for members to list blog carnivals that are happening or to advertise the ones that they are hosting.

What is a blog carnival?
A blog article that contains links to other articles covering a specific topic. Most blog carnivals are hosted by a rotating list of frequent contributors to the carnival, and serve to both generate new posts by contributors and highlight new bloggers posting matter in that subject area.

Blog carnivals is not a good way to get traffic to a website or a blog, but it is a good way to get backlinks to a website/blog. So it is more helpful in off page optimization.

Why do you think they're not a good way to get traffic? I've seen them do wonders, when done correctly.

It is rare that I see any significant traffic from a Carnival, except in the week following the Carnival as the participants leave a courtesy comment. I have to agree with TB they are better for building backlinks than traffic.

In current context of blogging, blog carnivals are getting less popular. Other thing is most of the blogs which involved in blog carnivals even don't have a Google PR or Good traffic. So how could they generate good traffic to your blog. Only thing is you can get backlinks.

If Blog Carnivals are becoming less popular, is there another trend taking their place?

They seem like a good idea in principle, but I found it fairly tedious to try to find the right ones and submit my posts and all that junk.
