Twitter is one of the very few Social Media places that authorizes you to have as many accounts as you want. This makes sense since you are just tweeting with those... and it is great since that way you can use one account with advanced topics in a field and another account with broader, more approachable content. Yet Twitter has Limits! ![]() The limits to know about:

I've never even thought these Twitter limits because they are so high. I would think the only time they'd ever come up is by using automation programs, which I would never do. Do you actually reach any of these limits, or are you just interested in them?

I completely support these limits. If you are using twitter as SOCIAL media, the limits make sense because they prevent people from aggregating huge followings through auto-programs. Twitter is meaningful when content is real, informative, and not pushed out through a feed. I have totally naturally grown my twitter following. Slowly over literally 2 years. I have never come close to any of those limits. Frankly, I think it's incredibly rude that people play this game where they follow 2000 people and then after using an automated system of followbacks, they dump a huge number of people. That's not connecting with people.

Melody, It's certainly rude to connect/disconnect "randomly". I do accept that. Now if you are doing it just to make money, it's not social anyway. So that makes sense. As I also had not heard of the limits until a sales guy talked about it... 8-) Facebook has a limit of 5,000 and LinkedIn lets you connect with 3,000 and then you have to ask for extras and they give you 500 extra requests at a time. As long as the people you're trying to connect with accept the requests, they will give you the extra 500. Plaxo, however, has a limit of 1,000 for free...

Tweet 1000 messages per day.. it means every 1 hour = 41 messages or every 87 seconds for 1 message.. I think it make sense for them who use "auto posting" tool (without need to take a sleep). I've seen many plugin that offer this service (auto posting). Make sense for spammer only and not for social networker like us ..

Tweet 1000 messages per day.. If they work 6 hours a day, so every 21 seconds they send 1 message. 1 minute = 60 seconds 1 hour = 3600 seconds 6 hours = 21.600 seconds 21.600 sec : 1000 message = 21,6 sec for 1 message still make sense ----> for copy-paste message

Hi Jefri! I see that you found bloggeries before me... 8-) I do indeed think that the 1,000 messages a day limit is way high. Already over 100 would look like total spam to me. Although some people have conversations on there... PUBLIC conversations! And those could indeed go well over 100. Still... weird.

@Alexis: Yeah,, I am on July and you're on Sept ![]() but you have posted more than I am.. Yes you're right.. In my social networking, maybe we'll not set a limit.. (but still not sure.. let's see what will happen on the future). because I don't know they're making a serious conversation or only a spam. If they make spam, first.. we'll hide (sandbox) their profile from "public status". That is the first thing we'll do.. Yeah, there are many things we should consider before blacklist their website address and nickname

Yes, and there are the people who's account is being hacked... I would add a "report spam" button or something of the sort. That way everyone can help about that. Similarly, you could have the "Block" button and if someone gets blocked more than normal, check the account...
