I really recommended users to change their password every 1-2 months.
Do not use phone numbers, birthday number, or others that related to us.
These are useful to avoid our account from being hacked.
I usually suggested my friends to use 'private browser' that Firefox has.
or set a time limit for browser to save cookies.

We have provide "Block" button and "flag" button in My-Status.net.
If you found unusual posting like spammy, porn, or other illegal things; you could use "Flag" button. We will review their account before give a penalize..

I never even thought about Twitter these limits, because they are so high. One might think that the only time I ever came to my mind is to use automation software, which I never do. Did you actually get into any of these restrictions, or are simply interested in them?

I endorse these limits too. The "report spam" button idea is excellent. I feel the need for such a tool on a regular basis, as the "block" button is not enough: the higher the traffic, the bigger the spamming...

These limits makes sense. Twitter wants to prevent spamming. Who the hell tweets 1000 messages per day?

Yet Twitter has Limits!

The limits to know about:
  • You can add up to 500 connections per day
  • You can tweet a maximum of 1,000 messages a day
  • You are allowed to follow up to 2,000 people after which you need followers to continue to grow
  • Between 2,000 and 5,000 you cannot grow the number of people you follow by more than 10% of the number of followers you have, so if you have 3,000 followers, you will be able to get up to 3,300 followings
Do you know of others?
hi..i never knew about this..thanx for sharing this information..

What about after 5,000 ?
I've seen Oprah being followed by about 44,000, and she's following about 42,000 back
Is that due to the 2000-5000 restriction thing ?

Yep, I knew about the limits. I was using Twitter when they put most of those in, it seems.

As for the 1000 tweets a day conversation going on on the first page, those "public conversations" can get weird, yes. You have to keep in mind that some people are doing full on chats with large groups of people, too....and trending topics can have people sending out tweets rapid fire.
