I just don't understand sites like delicious. Is it going to bring me traffic? every blue moon i'll check my stats and i get hit from delicious.


same goes for stumble upon. It's so random

i find these sites to just be incredibly confusing.

It can, but don't spend too much time on it. If you want to give it a try, put your top 5 or 10 sites on there and see how it goes. It all depends on your niche.

Delicious is a little different from both BC and Digg. It's a social bookmarking site where you tag your favorite sites with terms that you choose, forming your own organizational system.

The social aspect consists of creating a network with other users.

As with all these Web 2.0 sites, to have any sort of success with a less than huge website, it takes a lot of work.

You can't just keep submitting your own pages without providing anything in return; it's a two way street.

If you make friends, review/digg/bookmark their content, and prove that you are a positive contributor to the community, you will get a much better reaction and more traffic.

It's up to you whether you think all the effort is worth it.

In terms of generating traffic from a Social Media website, I would rank Delicious near the bottom.

Well Delicious can still bring you in a holy shit ton of traffic if you can leverage it right. i personally only really have time for BlogEngage (i know its not really the same). I dont see the point in fighting through the hordes of people trying to get their pages seen on these sites. It all seems a little futile nowadays.

It really doesn't even compare anymore.

Hell, even Reddit surpassed it and freaking Propeller is closing in- lol.

They have been on a serious decline since January.
