I tried Facebook ads which worked pretty well, although I was on a tight budget so my hits were limited.

A simple link in a status update often helps though.

I don't use facebook ads, but I use the facebook pages and i promote it to other people through there!

I don't use Facebook Ads either. But setting up a Facebook Fan Page and then setting that page to import my Blog's RSS Feed has worked well in driving traffic to my blogs.

I need to do that, but have been hessitant, i think it's better than most other sm sites or even google depending no your content.

I use the networked blogs application on facebook and it works great. It automatically posts blog updates to my profile and my fan page and people can follow my blog from inside the application and get updates sent right to them.

Create a facebook fan page for your blog, it works a treat.
