Maybe Entrecard Is Not Useless After All

A lot of people for some reasons think that entrecard is useless. While its half true, I think a lot of people just dont utilize it well.

Ok, forget getting traffic from it, but heck you can use it to:

1. Get tons of backlinks by sponsoring to a contest (major serp benefits)

2, Get a quality design for credits.

3. Actual Goods for credits

4. You can cash out the credits itself...

What do you think?

I got rid of Entrecard for one reason: there is some speculation as to whether the presence of the Entrecard widget or perhaps the high visitor bounce rate from the widget causes Google to regard your site as slightly spammy or at least less quality.

Personally, when I ditched the widget I began getting nearly twice as much Google search engine traffic which more than made up for the pathetic high bounce traffic from Entrecard.

I also ditched Entrecard for aesthetic reasons. The widget was ugly, and to perform well it had to be near the top of my blog. Since I have left the system I have had no regrets at all.

But that's my personal take. The ability to cash out credits and/or trade credits for goods is slightly cool, though. But I'm sure there are better ways to make money or use your site's traffic to get goods.

It takes a lot of time to utilise it well, and time is omething that I just don't have at the moment.

I really liked it for a while. The good times lasted for a long time, but it's not great for IE and if you don't have the fastest computer in the world then you spend a lot of time on not much gain.

The problem with EC in terms of getting traffic or promoting your blog there is that you'd usually get no traffic at all. If there is, it's usually junk traffic because most bloggers try to blog-hop for the sake of dropping so they can increase their credits, Anyways I made a post about it w/c I hope would be helpful The Real Gold In Entrecard | The Melvin Blog

Well, Entrecard is free traffic and advertising (when you use the credits) essentially. It is definitely of benefit to some bloggers out there.

1000 credits = $1 was only to cash out. I believe to buy credits cost more than that. And the cashout option is unavailable at the present moment.
