What techniques do you use to gain Twitter followers?

From my personal experiences, best way has been interacting, interacting and interacting a lot!
I usually keep myself involved in community and Tweet useful links.tips related to niche. Also, I have used Twitter Search to gain followers. I usually search for people looking for help in area I know about and help them. This is good for connections as well as they are more likely to RT my Tweets.

On my new twitter Mike (SellYourMobile) on Twitter I searc for people on twitter with the same keywords in their name. Add people who look interesting to me. Most add back and people start adding you other the place. I wrote a post about all the twitter apps I used on my blog if you search for it

Yeah, definitely not the most high quality followers, but it's a quick way to boost your numbers, if that's what you're looking for.
