How Do You Increase Twitter Followers?

I follow until Twitter says I can't follow any more Tweeple. Then many of them will follow me. I don't automatically follow anyone who follows me, because some could be spammers. I use Twellow, the Twitter Directory, to find Tweeple plus I do like some other people, and use search words to find people I like. I also keep track of people who retweet and people's comments too, and return comments whenever I can.

I make youtube videos and always include a link to my twitter in the actual video and a clickable link in the video description as well....but i'm gonna try some of these other methods suggested here too!

What good is boosting your Twitter numbers by joining sites to get more followers? You definitely will not have any meaningful exchanges with any of those people. You are better off looking for friends who have similar interests to yours so that you could have some kind of exchange with them. I think these are the interactions that last and will bring you genuine followers who care about what you have to say.
