Why do people unfollow me?

there's software out that tells you if people you follow on twitter are also following you

if you are not following them in return for following you they may be unsubscribing

I'm on twitter ( Stephen Todd (aceseo) on Twitter ) but now doubt that it has any value - those tiny url's don't pass any SEO benefit - and I don't think anybody really visits from twitter

twitter has been overrun by automation software - is twitter pointless now?

I find I lose people when I tweet, sometimes I gain people.

That said, don't take offense because most of it is bots anyways as mentioned earlier.

Yeah, don't take too much personal offense to it. Many of them are likely people who were trying to up their followers' count and when you didn't follow back (or even if you did), they eventually drop you from their own lists.

I think the reason for this is as people say. But why is it necessary to unfollow you? I heard the reason for this is because at a certain threshold Twitter takes in to consideration the difference between your 'following' and your 'followers'. If the disparity is too great then you are unable to follow people until your 'followers' catches up. This is why they drop you if you do not follow them in return.

People only follow you so that you follow them; if you don't, then they will stop following you.

I find if you spam too much with pointless tweets, then they will unfollow. People who follow are interested in what you have to say, so keep tweeting good interesting stuff, but not too much

I have made one post and someone is following me! Event thought I have post nothing. I will just awaiting for them to unlink then!! lol

I just started using twitter. Can't tell if it will be useful, as people seem to be saying it is all bots now. Can anyone confirm?
