'Twitter' is fine for social networking however I do follow people who tweet useful stuff and to keep following their posts. It's good for promoting your own blog too.

I've seen just the opposite lately, the traditional media is really getting into Twitter and how they can utilize it.

Twitter is an awesome tool and I like using it to cross promote my blog. It does get a bad rap but it's not at all deserved. It's quick, easy and efficient. Celebrities and politicians are using it as their own PR department. They can shape a story before the story becomes one. For us ordinary folks it's just a fun tool to use for social networking. I prefer this to Facebook and the like which I find to be too much of a good thing. I know I'm in the minority on FB but it was just too much.
