Yes - But I don't use it just for traffic. It's also a learning tool, and a news tool.

I get a small amount of traffic from Twitter according from my web stats. However, with all of the third party apps available for Twitter much of its traffic with be recorded a direct traffic. So, it becomes pretty hard to track.

Still fairly new to Twitter myself. I'm using cli.gs to track click throughs and they are gradually increasing. It does give me a sense of what people are interested in.

I get 1000+ uniques a month from it easy. I don't really do it for traffic though. More to network, share ideas and let people basically know your site exists.

I find that my "followers" aren't really following "me" at all. They are following a number, if you know what I mean. It's kind of frustrating. I don't expect many to be following me min. to min., but it's too bad I can't get a bite on a link or blog post after a day or two.

I use xr.com to track my links and get about 15 visits per link. I started about a week ago and I have 16 followers and am following only 4 people in my niche. Following people in own niche has its own advantages.

If you check your analytics, the traffic which says it comes from Twitter isn't the totality of the traffic you get.

Only the web will send an HTTP refer to the web server. If you come from a Twitter client, it will appear as organic traffic with no referring site.

Comparing spikes in Twitter traffic and organic traffic, I'd say you can double what it says comes from twitter.com to get a real estimate of twitter traffic.
