Vizard Music - Discover New Music and Musicians

Just discovered this forum from Bloggingcents.com as I was reading through her blog. Had to give her credit as this is a great forum! I've just joined this forum (obviously) and i would like to start it off by introducing myself and my blog to the folks in the forum.

Who Am I?
My name is Sayid Hafiz, from a tiny island called Singapore. Just like my country, I too am a tiny guy (literally - skinny and tall). I'm 19 currently doing National Service, the salary I'm getting is seriously horrible! You can't even find other jobs while serving the nation. I can't complain as all the guys here will have to go through it anyway. Instead of complaining, I've spent many months trying to find any loop-holes with the whole system. That is where blogging comes in!

Blogging To Earn Extra Income
I started my blog, Vizard Music, about 2 months ago. I am trying to earn extra income through this blog and I've readt many "Money Making Blogs" to get some trick and tips. I have made some money out of this blog, $0.40. Anyway I'm not in any hurry, as I plan to just build up the sites content and traffic first. Marketing will be done as and when I am free to do so.

About Vizard Music
I started the blog with the intention of blogging about any music related news as well as trying to provide music lyrics. This was a bad idea as firstly there are already many music news site available, the competition is just too great for me to enter now and secondly it takes a lot of work and time to write music lyrics.

That idea was scraped off completely. Now Vizard Music is for readers to discover new music and musicians. I basically search for any new musicians or nice music that I could find, people that not many people know about, and blog about these people. Hence the tagline, "Discover New Music and Musicians".

As I've learnt from the many money making blogs out there, it is important to have a consistent post frequency. I don't have much time to work on the blog (blogging, marketing, advertising, management, etc.) due to the National Service. Hence I've decided to have a consistent post frequency of just 1 post per week. So the site is lacking in terms of contents.

Blog Design
The blog template is designed by myself. I don't really like it but I don't really have much time to do a redesign. I also don't have the money to have a redesign done by a professional. There is an issue with the sites loading time even though the template is table-less. There isn't anything much on the sidebar also. I really have no idea why its taking such a long time to load. Vizard Music is hosted by Doreo Hosting*. The same hosting provider for Daily Blog Tips, which does not have any issues with the sites loading time. Anyone can help out?

I guess I've introduced myself as well as my blog enough. Glad to be part of this forum. Feel free to give your feedbacks and criticism. It would help me improve the site further and hopefully by next year I would be able to reap to some profits off my blog.

I think you are off the right start. As long as you are passionate about your topic and patient enough to just keep going at it for the sake of doing it and nothing else eventually it will become a resource of high traffic for visitors looking for new musicians or whatever other categories you have included over time.

Once very proud of your site and a lot of content begin inquiring to larger blogs about how to get on there blogroll. You'd be surprised sometimes how a simple polite email can go along way. Another thing is comment on other blogs in your niche.

I am patient enough to slowly build my site up. I definitely have to build up my content and think of even more features to provide the visitors of my site. I'll update you guys if there's any progress on my site.

Sounds like a plan. Just keep at it and build it for yourself and think of the visitors in mind whenever you make any decision and you will build a strong site that is well received from readers and search engines alike.

My site, Vizard Music, have had a redesign! Instead of the dark theme, it is now light and bluey in colour. Do check it out and let me know of any bugs on the site.

You may criticize it in any way you want. Be it the design or the site itself.

oh man i have no idea what i've done but now my site is having a serious lag!! Sorry for any inconvenience!!

Edit - Its AdToll!! Their server is down causing my site to be lagging.. no more lag once its removed temporarily.
