Re: Intermission at Work Redesign
Things I Like:
The header is good, post headings and dates are nice, About page is good, ads are off to the side and out of the way.
Things I'm Not Fond Of:
The Subscribe/Stumble/Dig/Delicious/etc crap at the bottom of every single post on the MAIN page is really, really, really distracting and annoys me. On each individual post page, sure, that's fine. But on the main page it really detracts. I'm not about to click on any of those, anyway, unless I click into the post itself, probably.
You have a lot of links to OTHER places, but very few links to YOUR blog. Your Technorati links lead away. Your long list of links to other sites/blogs lead away. Google leads away. Blog Catalog leads away. BlogRush leads away. While this is all fine and good and nice, how about a list of your last 15-20 posts? Links to your categories? Links to your archives? (you do have a block to your archives, but it's clear down on the bottom, after everything else) One of the biggest rules in blogging is to promote YOURSELF first, others second, because you want to grab and keep readers, and the longer they stay on your blog and read your content, the better off you are.
A bit of cleanup and carmelizing of your links and blocks so they don't look haphazard and promoting everyone BUT yourself and I think you'll have it sorted out.
